Does anyone know where our ship docks in Oslo? I am trying to figure out if we will have time to tour a bit on our own after our morning shore excursion.

Someone posted on this thread a while back saying it was at Akershus Kaia (Akerhus Pier) which appears to be just next to or south of the Akershus fortress.

Ok i know I saw that some people would like to meet on the 1st day at sea..??
Did I see a meeting place? Also something about the guys coming alone. I would hope so, like they said bring the beers. It's vacation time!!! Anyway the time we got together we wear something so everyone now who we were. Sorry I can think of what that was(Old age I guess). Just a thought.
Still don't want to thinling of packing for all of us!!!

A few weeks ago the Port of Oslo website showed us docking at
Sondre Akershuskai Midten

I found that site. That's what it still says. Google translates that to "Southern Akershus Pier Middle." Looks like it also called "Vippetangen." There's a tiny photo available here: http://www.oslohavn.no/english/isps/southern-a/

We received our London Passes yesterday. Even my daughter was impressed with the nice guidebook that came with the passes. We still don't have our travel documents yet but they are probably at our TA's office.

Now I'm considering whether to prepurchase London Eye tickets and which ones to get (a set time to ride or the flexi ride package). I'm trying to decide if the Eye is worth the big ticket cost (considerably more than our Navy Pier Ferris wheel in Chicago) or if this is something we can skip on this visit since we have only one full day in London. Any suggestions from someone who has been on the London Eye?

Our flight to London is in 30 days!!

I can't begin to think how to prioritise all the fab things you can do in London but I really liked it .... we went on it when it first opened and thought it was great. The views etc would depend on the weather though so perhaps that is something in favour of the wait and see option?

I seem to have bad luck with London - this will be the second time I'm there, and will still never have seen the sights! We thought we had a day on each end, so would go to Dover the first day and then spend the last day in London. But with the flight leaving at 6am the next morning, we need to stay at the airport - and with three kids coming off the cruise, I just can't see dragging them around London for 4 hours trying to see everything and then racing back to the hotel to get a few hours sleep before getting back up in the morning. So....My London sights will simply have to wait.

I think we are going to try and see Windsor instead.
