Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Hey everyone

Are we the only family not to have a room number yet?We are still coming up as gty 12.
Also does anyone have any idea if its a quiet cruise? Seem to be most stateroom cats still available.

Tammy, when do you leave? Isnt it soon?
We are so ready to go!

I am supposed to leave on 5/23 but I am booked on British Airways. They are going on strike. I am just waiting to hear if my flight is canceled or not. Just the level of stress I need right now. LOL.

Rita (Arizona Rita) ... Tried to pm you, but you have exceeded your pm limit. Can you please get back to me ... Thanks.

Nope, us too. Still no cabin - gty 12.

We may consider upgrading at the port if there are connecting cabins available...

The last time BA went on strike, they tried to keep as many flights flying as possible and moved folks onto other airlines if the flight couldn't go. I think they contracted out for temporary crews and chartered flights. Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be fine. You'll have a FANTASTIC vacation!!!!:goodvibes

Thanks for the encouragement! I have been a bit freaked out.

I think we are going to try and see Windsor instead.[/QUOTE]

We are doing Windsor right after we get off the plane on June 11th; then staying overnight somewhere in the English Countryside (to be arranged by our TA) before heading to Dover the next morning.

I decided to hold off on advance purchase London Eye tickets. If we run out of things to see during our one day in London and there is a short line we may do it. But I am pretty sure we will find lots of other things to do instead.

That is indeed some good news! We are flying to London on British Airways and have been worried about this strike and of course the volcano.

Thanks,
Sue

I had an email from BA earlier which said this

On the strike dates we will operate all London Gatwick and London City services. At Heathrow we plan to operate a substantial part of our longhaul schedule. There will also be a number of daily flights to every destination across our shorthaul network.

We are talking to other airlines about leasing in extra aircraft to support our shorthaul schedule and we will buy thousands of seats from other airlines to help our customers rebook if their original flight is cancelled.

I fully appreciate that information is critical during such a period so we will regularly update ba.com with details of our revised schedule and options available.

Hope that helps reassure anybody coming from overseas. :goodvibes

Gallivant Tour: We are in for the "Ice Age to Ikea Tour"!!!!!

Booked Red October Tour for SPB, but I think I am going to stick with the evening Disney excursions (canal cruise and ballet). I know it will put a crunch to get back on the boat on time...but I think I will want to be back with the big Disney group to do the evenings and break away from the private tour guide. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I know I will want to do a quick freshen and change into something appropriate for the ballet.

Does anyone know....when it says 7:00 for the canal cruise, does this mean that we gather at 7. OR does Disney have you gather prior to that time?

I'm sorry to hear about BA strike...that's a stressor.

Lecture sounds exciting! Good luck! Hope all goes well!

30 days, huh? I feel like there's not enough time to do all the planning I want to do. But really, when I think about it, I don't have a lot left to plan. Here's our schedule so far....

11th - Fly into Heathrow, car service to Dover, see Dover castle, dinner with the DIS crew.
12th - Board the Magic
13th - At sea: No plans
14th - Oslo: keep checking to see if there's room on the Hadeland Glassworks excursion.
15th - Copenhagen: Canal cruise and Tivoli Gardens (on our own)
16th - Warnemunde: train to Schwerin Castle (on our own), Palo dinner
17th - At sea: no plans
18th - St. Petersburg: DD8 in Master Ballet Class, Red October Tour of the city.
18th - St. Petersburg: Red October tour of Peterhof and Hermitage
19th - At sea: no plans
20th - At sea: no plans
21st - Helsinki: Santa's Summerhouse excursion
22nd - Stockholm: Skansen and Vasa excursion
23rd - At sea: no plans
24th - Disembarkation, car service to Heathrow, visit Windsor Castle
25th - 6:30 am flight back home.

I still have some details to work out, especially for Warnemunde and a whatever we're going to do in Oslo if we can't get into the glassworks excursion. And then choose a hotel at the airport.

What I really am working on, though, is a set of fact sheets for my daughters about each country and city, so they can learn a little about each place and its history before we get there, and they will have some things in mind to look for. So far, I've done through Germany, so I have quite a bit left. If anyone's interested, I'll share it when I'm done. It'll definitely be targeted to the 6-8 year old girl audience, but let me know if you want a copy anyway.

Less than a month!:scared1:

Although I am wayyyyyy past 6-8 (I can't even remember back that far :lmao:) I would love to see your fact sheets. :woohoo: My husband was the one who said "Disney's going to the Baltic, we have to go" and I responded "where the heck is that?!"

We are also on British Airways and will be flying (at least I hope) on June 7th to Heathrow with a layover there and then on to Paris. So we'll be crossing our fingers too!

DH made two important omissions:

1 - 13th - DISMeet - Time and Location TBD
2 - 23rd - Secret Mickey Reveal - Time & Location TBD

Can't miss these!!!!!!:scared1:

This is our first time doing the FE exchanges and secret mickey's and I have some questions:
1. Do you put your name/room number on your FE gifts before you pass them out?
2. Do you wrap your Secret Mickey gifts? I am assuming that you put a tag on it saying To:XXXX From: your secret Mickey.
