Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Here is a little bit of information that some of you may find useful. The US Emabassy offers travel registration as a free service to its citizens that are traveling abroad. Registration allows you to record information about your upcoming trip abroad that the Department of State can use to assist you in case of an emergency. For additional information contact the US Embassy of where you are traveling For instance, US Embassy in London, England.

Good morning everyone! The sun is shining so I'm heading to the pool for the day. Next weekend(one year to the day that we leave for England) I head to Myrtle Beach for a week.

A day at the pool sounds nice, but I guess I'll just have to look at the sun from my desk chair instead.:rotfl:

Good Morning Cruisers!

Nice weekend here - so far. We might get the new kayaks out again today - we waited too long yesterday and some thunderstorms came thru.

Have a great day everyone!

Afternoon all,

I just received the shock of the year so far...it seems the cheapest Disney Hotel of the three (note for 3 people) is $998 USD a night.....The Park Plaza...

I started checking the actual room size of the standard rooms in London and Dover and discovered that most rooms are for 2 people...in a double or two single beds.....so we have to get at least two rooms...

Then there is the matter of things we consider standard parts of a hotel room, showers, heat, a/c, ensuite baths etc.......which are not part of many of the hotels in England.....

Then there is the matter of one hotel that described how to get 4 kids into two single bunkbeds.....by using the head to tail method...

This is going to be a real learning experience...popcorn::

I got the suite for 4 people at the Park Plaza for $200GBP a night.
Yes it is different. Last time we went to Italy we could sit on the toilet, brush our teeth, and take a shower without moving! We learned to take the toilet paper out of the bathroom before showering!!! We also learned to take toilet paper with us because if we used a public bathroom we were usually charged $.50 for two of the squares of toilet paper.

We stayed at Renaissance Chancery Court London for our ABD trip last year. We had 2 double beds. I checked the rates for late May and it was 230GBP per night. It was a great location next to the metro and very nice overall. This is one of the place I'm considering staying at. I have many more Hilton Honor points - so I'm looking at one of them too....

I was at the dollar store today and they had some 11X14 picture mats for signing. A 4X6 picture will fit into the opening. We had 1 signed by all the characters and the Captain last year and it is hanging in Brent's room. If you would like one just pm me and I will bring it to you. I got all they had so I have some extra but not lots.

That works out to $350 cdn a night....certainly a lot less than Disney quoted....wonder why the difference.....

Sounds like a wonderful time Scott!!!!

We haven't really talked about it yet, but I'd like to see us do a few days in London before the cruise, cruise the Baltic, Eurostar to DLP, DLP for a few days and fly home.

Good Morning Cruisers!

It looks like Scott got you all up to date on our travel plans so far - that is how we spent our day yesterday! I spend several hours researching Barcelona hotels, we will spend 1 or 2 nights - depending on train schedules - in Barcelona before getting on the ship. It was a fun way to spend the day.

Looks like rain here today, I already got my walk in with the dogs, just need to get the lawn mowed before it starts raining - but it is still too wet now.

Have a great day everyone!
