Have you stayed in the unit you bought?

All DVC contracts specify which unit you own (and how much of it). I'm just curious-- have you ever actually stayed in a room in the unit you own? I usually do room requests via chat with CM and I'm mildly entertained thinking of how they'd respond to such an oddly specific room request (and whether "we literally own there" gets any sway with the room assigner).

It is a meaningless distinction, and some have "units" that are more than a floor full of rooms. It has no bearing on your room request. And to be honest room requests are frequently ignored anyway.

every purchase is for a percentage of a unit on certain Level in each condominium, hard to figure out which unit it would be anyhow unless you have the registered condomnium plans.

Yeah I don't disagree with any of that. We have a last-minute stay coming up at our home resort. I just took what was available and it happened to be in the category/view that our unit is in, which is what made me think of it.
