Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

So if anyone is interested in a more accessible tour with your truly and my talkative daughter who will be 12, let me know and we will see what we can arrange. Thanks!

Just sent you a PM Tammy. :thumbsup2

Very nice! We will be celebrating my daughter Jamie's graduation from high school for this cruise!

Added. :goodvibes:

There is an average temp chart on the webpage :surfweb: There is a link at the top of the roster.

Thanks Debbie, I've added a link back to your page.

Good Evening Cruisers!

I, too, would like to see the excursions, we just got a bunch of travel books last week so we can compare what is in the books with what is offered by Disney, but I think we are only looking for an excursion in St Petersburg, otherwise, we will probably go on our own. Scott was finding links to tour busses in most of the cities, that might be a fun way to go, the ones with the narrated tours.

Have a great evening all!

That's what we always do and it's great. We do the entire tour and then on the second time we hop off and on to see the sites that interest us the most.

Make sure you post all the scoop once you find it out. We might just do that too to save costs except for St. Petersburg....

I was doing some reading for the various ports yesterday and I came across a recommendation on the Cruise Critic forums for Friends of Dave Tours in Warnemunde. Neither Dad or I particularly fancied the long journey to Berlin and back so I have e-mailed Dave and booked us on the Complete Hansa tour, details of which you can find here.

The tour costs 115 Euros per person (payable on the day of the tour) and there will be a maximum of 15 people on the tour (which could possibly include people not on our cruise). If anybody would like to join Dad and myself just send me a PM with the full names of the people that will be coming and I will pass them on to Dave for him to issue the tickets.

Dave also said this in his e-mail to me this afternoon:

We are extremely excited that she is coming to Warnemünde this year! In fact, if my port info is correct, your sailing will be the Magic's (and Disney's) very first call to Warnemünde and there will be VERY special events for the sail in and out.

The part I have put in bold sounds VERY interesting! :thumbsup2

That sounds like a great idea - the stay on bus the first loop for the narration, then jump off to explore more.

Snow here last night - 3.5 inches - snow plow just went by so the streets might be cleared off before we need to leave to meet friends for breakfast.

Have a great day all!

David that is excellent information, inaugural arrivals and sailings from new ports are always exciting and specila, thus our desire to be on these first cruises...

Did some research on Travel Card Vs Oyster Card fro London, Travel card wins for us... good 2 for one deals if purchased at a rail station...

Hop on Hop off bus fares can be purchased on line for a slight discount...

The special touches that happen when you are in a new port on DCL is 1 reason that we love the 1st cruises to places! Can't wait!!!

Good Day Fellow Crusiers:
We are still faily new at Disboards and I have to get our information to add to the roster. This will be DH and my 6th DCL adventure so not new to DCL. Any way we have been doing some research on Russia and have learned that using credit cards or debit cards is not recommended due to high chances of the numbers being stolen. A friend suggested what his sister did when she traveled to this part of the world was to purchase before she let some Visa or Master Card gift cards. They are taken anywhere they would have taken your credit card card and the exchange rate is done on the gift card like the CC.

This is an excellent idea. Can you use the gift cards for Withdrawals from ATM'S?
