Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

DH and I have our good friend and neighbor helping us assemble our FE gift. Since this is new territory for us I have another question for our experts. Do we put our name on it to share who it is from or keep it a secret. Either way works for us.:confused3
Thanks for you help. Sue

We've been doing FE gifts since the first Panama Canal cruise, and people usually put at least their DISBoard name on there, sometimes real names, sometimes their stateroom. You certainly don't have to, but it's kinda fun to know who gave you a gift. I'd say it's different from a Secret Mickey exchange.

In the past, we've gotten together with other DISers to purchase lanyards for everyone - my favorite souvenirs that I wear every day at work :) Thanks to Lynda for arranging that this time around.

For our gift, I've got a fun activity and contest that everyone can participate in - more details to come (unless you've sailed with me before, and if so, shhh!)

We would like to get the kids together to meet each other and break the ice over a Mickey bar by the Mickey pool on the starboard side at 3pm on embarkation day.

Great idea. We will be there.

As Scott said, we are on our way to Barcelona today, we had a great time in London and Normandy. We get to spend today at the airport as we will get there early in case of any traffic delays, it is a two hour drive back to Paris. Our flight is not out until 5:30 or so tonight. We will soon be on the ship! Have a great day all!

The wedding looked wonderful! Beautiful bride:bride:

Now you can get ready for your cruise! ... and then another wedding :thumbsup2

Great, I was thinking about putting our name on it but wanted to make sure that was what folks did.

There was a FE game played on the eastbound Panama Canal Cruise in August of '08 that I thought was so much fun....and extremely clever! I won't reveal the game but was that you?

Personally, I like to know who it came from. Most people do put their names on their FE gifts. It's fun to know! That's my opinion!

I know you'll be having a great time on the REPO! Sure wish we could have joined you!

I WISH THERE WAS A SMILIE PACKING A SUITCASE......the closest thing is the one hanging laundry......:laundy::laundy::laundy::laundy::laundy::laundy:

I'm not on your cruise anymore. We switched to Princess , and guess what, we got upgraded to a full Vista Suite on the Princess Dolphin Deck.
We leave the day before you, so we will make a path for you. Have a great trip everyone.

Ok, I finished my fact sheets, and started e-mailing them to those of you who asked for them. But them Joann was making puzzles to go with them. So now I'm adding the puzzles and activities, and will e-mail again when I've got it all done. Should be soon.

I must have missed this also. Are the fact sheets for kids or adults? I've been so busy with other stuff, that I've done very little prepearation for this cruise and can use all the help I can get. We have no small children so I don't need coloring sheets and the like, but would love the other info on the fact sheets. I can pm my email address if you need it. Thanks!

So here's a bad piece of luck :sad2:.

I ordered nice dresses from eBay for the girls for the formal and semi-formal nights. I've done this before and been very pleased. You can get nice flower-girl-type dresses for $20!

Well, they shipped the order in two packages - one contained one dress. The other one contained 5. I got the package with the single dress last week and wondered where the other package could possibly be...When it didn't show up yesterday, I sent an e-mail to the seller asking for a tracking number to figure it out.

Well, today we found the package......It's in Kathmandu!!!!:scared1::scared1:

See we get our mail through a State Dept. sorting facility in VA. When the mail comes in, they sort it by overseas post into bins. Well, the KAMPALA bin just happens to be next to the KATHMANDU bin. It appears that my girls' dresses fell into the wrong bin.

At this point, don't see how they could possibly make it to Kampala in time before we leave next Thursday. So bummed! Have no idea what I'm going to do with five dresses after the cruise!!! And taking the girls downtown to buy other dresses will definitely give away my secret. DangNabit! :sad1:

What to do...:confused3

The fact sheets are designed for the 6-10 set. Very simple language, maps, nice pictures, some activities, and basic words in the local language.

If you'd like to receive one, send DH a PM with your e-mail and he'll send it to you. :goodvibes

Ha,ha...that's what happens when you're too busy to read every post. Thank-you very much for the offer, but I think I'll pass. I will say that it's awfully nice of you guys to do that for the younger folks. :thumbsup2

We loved them - even our 15 yr old liked reading them....

pirate:

Does anyone have the "up to date" list of theme nights? Is villan night just after the show or all evening event like pirate night has been?
Heidi

I'm not sure but "villain night:" is of course the night of the new villains show. I for one am dressing as one of my favorite villains...Connie

Hi all....

Everyone sounds so busy! :confused3 LOL

I don't have the list of theme nights but did experience Villain Night last month (wait this is June...in April) on the EBTA.

Yes, the villians show was on and then later in the evening (9:45 I think) there was a Villian's Ball in the Atrium on Deck 3. Everyone was invited to attend wearing their favorite villian attire. :goodvibes

I didn't see many dressed before that, but some were really "decked out" in really cool villian outfits. Looked fun, but we didn't stay to see what actually happened at the ball....too pooped! :sad2:
