Northern Europe Magic 6/13/2015

This is our second Disney cruise. Our first was on the Wonder last fall and it was truly a wonderful experience There was nothing about it we didn’t thoroughly enjoy!

We had wanted one of the 12 night Baltic cruises in July but couldn’t get the rooms we needed as they were already sold out on opening day! So we decided on a 7 night in June and decided we’d tack on extra before and after

There are at least three days worth of activities I want to do in Copenhagen alone!

Welcome Rascofam!!! This should be an exciting cruise.

One thing that will be different is that on the last trip (7 night Bahamas), the ship was truly our destination. All of us only got off the ship at Castaway Cay. However, this time, the ports are every bit as important! I really considered other cruise lines, but wanted my girls to do Europe with Disney for this first trip

And anytime someone is having a really hard day, I whisper in their ear that we are going to Arendelle!

We take our in-laws with us and I’ve “warned" all the adults that we are going to have to be in significantly better shape to be able to truly enjoy seeing all those ports. I downloaded the Disney Cruise Line app to my Father-in Law’s iPhone and set the countdown on it this past weekend so he can look at it everyday and be motivated to exercise

410 days and counting. I really need to get on the elliptical today too!

Have you seen Rick Steve's Baltic cruise port book? Very detailed.

Yes! I have devoured his book and we’ve recorded all the episodes of Rick Steves’ Europe for the ports on the cruise and other places we want to see. Since we’ve done very little foreign travel, has really helped us visualize what the experience in the foreign cities will be like! A little while back the DK Eyewitness Travel books were like 99 cents each for the Kindle and I downloaded those for each destination as well. They must be more useful in hardcopy as I’ve found them challenging to navigate as an ebook.

Hello, just moved our booking from the 7 day Norwiegan Cruise to this one due to issues with the end of our school year. Super excited to be going on our second Disney Cruise and our first to Europe. Joining me is my DH and my kids who at the time of the cruise will be DS(17), DS(14) and DD(12).

We're just starting to plan and I'd like to figure out what to do in Copenhagen because we might not have much time before, between or after our cruises. What fun things did you find? We were thinking about Legoland and Tivoli (our DD will be almost 7) and hadn't dug into Copenhagen to start planning.

We have a set of Rick's videos too. His website has been updated and you can view the videos and even the transcripts there. We watched Finland and Estonia last night.

I haven't checked out Rick Steve's videos but will. Thank you 890537 for that bit of information. Just have the book which is terrific. I will be ripping it apart like he suggests as we get closer.

Not too sure what we are going to be doing in Copenhagen. Definitely want to check out Tivoli and some castles. My DD will be 4 for this cruise.

We were considering Legoland as well, but it is over 4 hrs away by train/bus.

From what I've read, LL in Copenhagen isn't all that different from the LL in the US.

We were on this cruise a couple of years ago. Copenhagen is lovely. Here are couple of ideas. Don't bother with the shore excursion to Tivoli. Way too expensive. Take the Hop On Hop Off bus which you can get close to pier. Ride it around to see all the sites. Jump off second time around at tivoli. Buy your own ticket. You can get one with rides or without rides. Or just some rides. Walk around maybe have lunch. It's beautiful. Also be sure to go to port and walk around. So pretty.

Yes, we've read this as well. We haven't made time to visit either of the stateside parks - maybe we should do that and skip this one
