North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Hi all:cool1:
We are going on the May 24 cruise and was hoping I might get someone on here to post the daily navigators from the first cruise..:worship:I have no problem leaving my e-mail address to facilitate the transfer of the info smooth and encumbered.. Thank you in advance to anyone within ear shot of this.:dance3:

Jamespirate: "The 3 Hour Alaskan Cruise"

I was on the Wonder for the first cruise out of LA in Jan. and we thought that there would be something when it came into port but there was nothing done at all. It came in about 2 in the morning very quiet, they got off we got on and left. with Disneyland so close I WAS SHOCKED.

This is probably since it was not the first Disney Ship. We were on the first repo cruise on the Magic in 2005 and we were met with fire boats and media.

There may be fan fare in Vancouver. We had it at all the ports on the 1st Panama Canal Cruise:cheer2:; on the first Med cruise it was hit and miss by port. Same was true of the Baltic last year but there were more greatings on the Baltic cruise than the Med. There are lots of locals that come to see a cruise ship unlike anyother except the sister ships being sailed today. And when the horn is blown it is Magical or in our case with this cruise Wonderful:rotfl:

So after the doctor's app't yesterday, which went really well btw, we made the final decision last night... We're in! Now to figure out what to pack, pack it, do FE gifts, get the dog ready, figure out if I forgot anything which I'm sure I have.:scared1:

Now it really is too much to do and so little time.

That's such great news!! Hip Hip Hooray! :cheer2:

We have a question for all you experienced MV cruisers. The scheduled arrival time of the repo cruise is 8:00 am, but will there be fanfare earlier for her first arrival in Canada?

This is probably since it was not the first Disney Ship. We were on the first repo cruise on the Magic in 2005 and we were met with fire boats and media.

Now, as I remember the Magic entering the harbor in LA in 2005, there wasn't much fanfare. Kinda disappointed.

Definitely not what we experienced when the Magic arrived in Barcelona for the first time. What a show.

As for Vancouver, I would like to think that there would be some sort of welcoming. If not, I am sure we will all have a WONDERful cruise.

Well folks, just did a quick weather channel update and bring the ark (or the DCL Wonder). It looks like we will be getting wet. 40 -60% rain till Thursday. Lets hope it only rains at night and it is beautiful during the day:worship:. We cant wait to meet most/all of you in a few days. As far as the Fish Extender gifts, ours will have a Jersey theme and no I am not talking about the Jersey Shore cast of misfits.

What is everyone doing for dinner (non formal night)? I'm thinking jeans and a nice shirt? I don't want to be the only one though. The thought of bringing more stuff besides a shirt change is stressing me out!:scared1:

may do slacks and polo shirts for dinner, but probably just jeans and polo shirts. Mostly will depend on what the guys keep clean!

Since this is our first big ship cruise, my DH wants to know the options for insomniacs who wake up at 3 AM. Are there restaurants open? Bars? Other entertainment options
Thanks and see you real soon. Ha ha

Room service is always open but not much else other than the laundry:laundy: and yes room service will deliver cookies to the laundry in the middle of the night!

Ok, back to packing I go!

OK...we're awake and showering and getting the last of our packing done this morning.....and then we're off to grab our shuttle (in an hour and 10 minutes) to the port!:banana::banana:

No idea how the internet service will be on the ship while we're aboard (it's always a little hit or miss), but we will probably NOT be on the boards. If we can get internet access, however, we WILL keep posting on our trip blog....so you can keep up with us there:

Can't wait to see you all in just a few hours if you're on the repo and in about a week if you're joining us in Vancouver!

We are! My DS thinks it will be like "Deadliest Catch" - one of his favorite shows!

Are you doing the tour or tour & dinner? I will be solo that day, as DH is scuba diving and am on the fence about this tour. It looks awesome, but I'm nervous about being solo.

Great News! Enjoy your vacation!!

Whoever is going to scrapbook stores please let me know also. How many did you find listed? I may get a chance to go to one depending on traffic and how long the border crossing takes.
