North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Does anyone know if it would be possible to make a 10:30am flight out of Vancouver? Otherwise we have to wait an extra day which we would like to do but with school age child we are trying not miss more than needed.

Before booked our flights I called DCL and the CM I spoke to advised that the information they had indicated that guests should not book flights departing before noon. She advised that although the ship is expected to arrive back in Vancouver at 8 am, she said that we will not be able to disembark the ship until we are cleared by customs....you might want to call DCL to see if it would be possible to maybe be among the first to leave the ship.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I think I should just plan on staying in Vancouver an extra day. I was hoping to go to Legoland the day before we cruise in LA but I will cut that instead of taking a chance.

Been reading my Robert Service. Have not done so for awhile, might have to enter the talent show with my rendition of the Creamation of Sam McGee.

Don't forget to get ready for the grass skirt plaid shirt fraternity, I'm a lumberjack and that's ok........

Good Morning Cruisers!

I found this thread on page 4 - decided it was time to bring it back up to the front!

Nice day here today, it has been warm in the mornings then clouding up and storming in the afternoon, will see what it does today. Today we get to go down to Loveland for Scott's doc to read his MRI on his knee.

Have a great day all!

Delta has added a bigger plane leaving Van at 12pm on the 10th of May. It lower the prices of our flights to Atl so we are all booked!

Hi I am not on your cruise but will be on the May 17th cruise to Alaska. I was wondering if there is anyone on this cruise that would put their Navigators on the site when you return home. This will be my second cruise, the first one will be the two night one out of LA and it would be great to get a sneek- peek into what is to come. You seem to have a-lot more people, I think I have found 6 others on our ship, should be interesting. Thank you so much if you are willing to do that.:cheer2::cheer2:

Came across this tour in Skagway ... If you like trains, this would be the tour to take! Cost is $110 a person if booked in advance (2010 price). Train station you board on is right near the port and it is wheel chair accessible.I'm sure Disney would be offering it. Curious to see what their markup would be.

White Pass Summit Excursion

After an extended absence from the board, I figure it's time to return. My sister-in-law (Lisa, 29) will be joining me and my wife on this cruise (and the REPO). Lisa was on a RCCL cruise to Canada with her parents ... then my wife and I got her hooked on DCL after just one cruise! I am 99.9% she is now a DCL convert!
:cool1:

Do I get brownie points?

Hey everyone ... I started an Alaskan tips and hints thread here

Some interesting tips have already come up. The whale watching in Juneau sounds really interesting. I know its early, but I would love to get together a group. They haven't opened up their 2011 booking dates yet, but keep it in mind. I will ask again as the dates get closer!

Anyone up for ziplining? We are planning on doing it and whale watching in Juneau.

:happytv: Hi All,
Just wanted to say we are back, been with the Dgrandchildren all 8 of them for the last two weeks. Spent last week in the Treehouses at WDW and it was a great time except for the killer golf balls. :rotfl2:popcorn:::yay:
One afternoon one missed me by about 4 feet as I was reading on the TH deck...scared the hell out of me:scared1::scared1: when it hit. DD got a cracked windshield  the last afternoon there but how do you prove it was really a golfball...
The kids had a great time and collected 18 golfballs around our house (7046)
the last morning there....
Hope everyone is having a great summer.

I am beginning to think Kilt as a substitute for the Grass Skirt, or under teh grass skirt.

Asked Port of Vancouver about shipping stuff to port and they responded

Hi Mary Jane,
...
In regards to the second question about shipping parcels to the ship – I would need to know the name of the cruise ship that you are travelling on and I would then provide you the name and phone number of the ships agent to see if this is a possibility.

Please let me know what ship you are on and I’ll give you that information.

I responded Disney Wonder then they responded:

The information for the ship’s agent is: TMS Anchor 604-630-5131. They should be able to tell you if it is possible to have items sent to the ship prior to your cruise and how to go about doing that.

As I well be on the B2b ... I won't be shipping anything, but, if anyone gets more info, please post it here and/or on the Alaskan Cruise Info thread.
