North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Welcome home Lynn! Hope you & Scott had a great trip & hope you had a great birthday. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up, but we never had down time.

At least we will get to see each other on the cruise!

ABD Cruise Add on and seperate Vancouver Add on are now posted on thier website. It looks amazing.

Really ready to see the excursions! Dog sledding on a glacier looks amazing, but my daughter will only be 5, so I'm not sure what options we'll have. On the Med cruise, there were plenty of choices for the younger set, so I'm sure they will have plenty of things to do. Of course, she'd be fine with me leaving her in the club 24/7! Not even dog sledding on a glacier can compete with the kids' club, trust me!

Is anyone doing fish extenders? We did it on our last cruise and had a blast. We booked our flights to vancouver from Newark and Air Canada still has open seats for the direct flight. :cool1:

We are planning on bringing our fish extender, and will plan a small gift for those on the roster! We will just use the roster as our fish extender list.

Thanks for the congrats everyone. We'll see about the party, maybe the room tour.:thumbsup2

The ABD add on looks interesting I just wonder how much it will be. I'm a little disappointed they didn't have ziplining somewhere in the itinerary. That's one thing I really want to do.

Hopefully since they've put this up the excursions aren't too far behind. Anyone know when 120 days out is? I haven't even looked yet.

someone posted something like 2129 (i think) a person or 311 DVC points a person. I was fine with no ziplining since I am doing it in Vancouver, but not 100% sure I like what is planned in Ketitchan.

120 days out is December 29 and for those of us B2B 120 for the first part of our voyage is 12/22. I would hope they have both out before 12/22. I am not platium yet but if I was or paying for concerie I would not be happy that I do not have this information and for the repo cruise the booking is only 8 days away. Sue

Oh my goodness is it really that soon!!!!:scared1: I really need to get my head straight & start thinking about this cruise. At least it's not while we're sailing through the Canal.

What a wonderful Upgrade!!! CONGRATULATIONS! :wizard:

Thanks!!!!

I just heard from my TA with DU that they will not be offering add on for the 1st three alaska cruises.

Ok, I am a cruise newbie and have several questions.
1. What are fish extenders?
2. What is so magical about the 120 day mark?
3. I haven't heard from my TA since I booked the cruise many months ago other than a mass email about sailings for the dream. Should I be concerned?
4. I haven't book flights yet. What is the earliest time we can safely book our return flight?

Thanks and looking forward to meeting everyone!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

A fish extender is a hanging pocket that extends off the fish outside your stateroom door. I don't have a picture of either, but I'm sure someone else does. We use them to exchange little gifts throughout the cruise.

The 120 day mark is when Platnium Castaway members (10 cruises+) or concierge passengers can begin making shore excursion, spa, Palo & Flounders Reef (if needed) reservations. 105 days is for Gold Castaways, 90 days is for Silver Castaways and 75 days out is for first time cruisers.

I wouldn't be too concerned about not hearing from your TA. About a month from the cruise your TA will receive your cruise documents and they should forward them to you. You'll see people here talking about receiving their's and if you haven't received your's yet, then you might want to contact your TA.

If you're flying out on debarkation day, I believe DCL recommends a departure time no earlier than 1 pm from Vancouver.

Hope this helps!!!!
