We will arrive on 11-29!! I've wrote down some room #'s from this board. So far I have 7232, 7329, and 8129 for good views. My question is can you call ahead for a specific room # or do you have to wait until you check in? I wrote down that 8129 was a first floor patio...is that correct? Thanks for any help!!

Yourmajesty-

Have a great time! Don't forget to post and let us know about the room views for our May trip. Again, have a magical time! :yo-yo:

YourMajesty,
If I were you, I'm not sure I would be so specific.

We don't generally specify a room request other than non-smoking. I have been really pleasantly surprised with the rooms that we have ended up with (is there any such thing as a bad room at WDW?)

Anyway, room 8129 is on the first floor. (It looks like it is a little bit of a hike to the main tower).

Rooms starting with 7 or 8 designate they are in the North Wing.
The next number is the floor (1, 2 or 3) and the last number is the room number.

7232 is on the second floor and it is room32. You will not have a patio or deck--just a little 6 in ledge (but you can open the door). My Mom and Sister's family had two roomsa couple doors down from that room this summer and we were really surprised that you could see the fireworks from their rooms.

( 7229 might have actually been one of the rooms they had. )
Oh, and I think that room had a King Size bed and a day bed --which wasn't good because Mom was sharing a room with my sister's sister in law. (Boy were they surprised when they got to the room :) ). It was quite a hike to these rooms, too.

Good luck with your room selection!

Whoops--you said 7329 which is a 3rd floor room which would be the floor above the room my Mom had--so, I don't know the bedding configuration on that one.

I love the CR North wing. But IMHO don't be specific, if that room is taken you will be assigned randomly. Just list - politely and kindly what you would like, in order of preference and hope for the best. Keep in mind that they try to fill requests but sometimes they just can't. I would also avoid asking for somthing you haven't paid for (not saying you are!) as they often just can't do it.

My last request was non-smoking, north wing (as its all non-smoking) on the first floor with a view of the lake if possible! Got non-smoking, north wing and 1st floor - two of the three and had a wonderful time.

About a week and a half ago, I faxed my request to the Contemporary room assigners - and I think being more general with requests (king bed, non-smoking, lagoon view) vs room numbers would be a better choice. This gives them some more flexibility in assigning rooms.

Just a note - I had a non-smoking reserved (SOG) and requested a king bed and MK view. I really wanted the king bed (as it was just DH and me) but figured the MK view would be a perk. I ended up getting....a king bed corner room (suite) for the SOG stasndard price. :earsgirl: :earsboy: It was very lovely - and I didn't even miss the MK view!!

I think I read this right?
All non smoking rooms are ground floor at the CR ?
What ground floor area is better ?? I have never been to the CR and have no idea how it is set up

thank you

Hello,

Thanks everyone for the good tips. Sounds like I shouldn't ask for a specific room #. I do see from this post that it would be ok to fax a request. I'm assuming a call a couple of days before would be ok too. I might just request a first floor lagoon view(non-smoking)...I guess asking for the corner suite might be too specific! Also, we need two queen beds! I'll be sure to post when we get back and let everyone know what room we stayed in and how the view was. We are leaving soon because we are driving up to Kansas City....flying out tomorrow!
