Noob ADR/reservation questions

I am coming up on my 90 day window on the 19th of Sept. for ADR's on my DDP.
Aside from making reservations as early as possible, what tricks are there for getting all your desired ADR's? Should I do it online or by phone? Is the phone reservation line a 24/7 line? Live or automated? Should I wait till 11PM my time to call and make my reservation when the clock strikes midnight on the 18th (I am Central time)? Is that an overboard tactic? Any advice on making and securing ADR's would be helpful.

The online reservation system has been allowing bookings as early as 3:00am so I'd definitely do it online.

As for tips...go for your harder-to-get ADRs first and then do the less popular places. For example, if you want both Le Cellier and the Biergarten, go for Le Cellier first. Also, try to plan the most popular places later in your trip as there will have been less demand for them by others whose window opened before yours.

Nothing is overboard. I got up at 1:50 AM Central to make my online reservations last week. If you have some hard to get ADRs, anything is worth it. I got Hoop Dee Doo for a party of 9 in the middle of the night. When I checked again after waking up in the morning, all the category 2 seating was gone. I am so glad I did it during the middle of the night!

Also, play around with the system before hand. Go ahead and put in your reservation number now to be sure the system recognizes it (where it says Retrieve Your Reservation on the booking page. If you get any kind of error message or it won't let you associate your reservation, you will be able to call and make sure you have the right number. There will be no one able to help you with this in the middle of the night, so it is better to make sure everything is set beforehand.
