None of them are fat!

The people in the pics from my 20 year reunion mainly fell into 2 groups, and I have to say KramBerries was not far off.

Some of the girls haven't really changed much at all, regardless of marital status.

The ones who are happily married look a bit heavier. Some gained weight and then made a conscious effort to take the weight back off, as was the case with one of my friends.

Then there are some who look like they live on vodka sipped in a tanning bed. One of them even posted a comment about her string of failed marriages.

So yes, it IS a generalization, and definitely NOT true for everyone, yet there IS truth to it.

Many of the boys are fat and bald. Don't know if they are single or married because I don't follow the high school crowd anymore.

:rotfl: Since I grew up in San Jose CA, where many people still adore the sun a bit too much, yeah, gotta say there were a couple of those, too! And there were free drink tickets included in our $100+ awful buffet, so there was quite a bit of vodka being consumed.

I don't think it's totally out of line to say that many women lose weight after marriages fall apart. Happens with men too. Either being too sad to eat, or realizing that they have to do something to combat what happened while they were married (either happily going out to eat or being depressed and eating to make yourself feel better, or anything in between)...people going back out on the "market" will often lose weight to look better.

And I don't think it's out of line to say that people who get married and comfy might gain weight, either. Just like the freshman 15 can happen (though not to ALL), it's easy to get too comfy inside a relationship. I have only known of a few couples where one can tell the other that some pounds are slipping on, without it causing something nasty. Most everyone else I know considers it a capital offense to tell a spouse they've gained too much.

I am one of those who said that if they went through a divorce, they may have lost weight. And in my experience, that's true. My brother lost 35lbs in the first month after he found out his then wife had a boyfriend, my girlfriend from high school lost 50 lbs in a few months after she found out her now ex-husband had a gambling addiction and their home was in foreclosure and he had $200,000 in unsecured debt and was unemployed! They were too depressed/stressed to eat. And they've kept it off 3 years later for both of them.

People with a calorie surplus gain wait. If calories in > calories out you will gain weight. That ratio can be changed via diet, exorcise, or both. Marital status is an excuse and not a cause.

You're KIDDING!!:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:
