Non-Stop SuperShuttle?

First trip to DL, and CA in general. I booked a non-stop SuperShuttle from LAX to PP (and back) for $200. We have five people (two in car seats) - I don't want to use the DL Express and we'd need an XL Uber ($74-97/trip) or Lyft ($74-86/trip). We land at 9:50 am on Tuesday and leave at 12:10 pm on Friday, if that makes a difference.

Is a non-stop SuperShuttle a good idea? Reliable? Should I book a private car instead? I've never used SuperShuttle, and only Uber'ed at WDW. Thanks!

Super Shuttle is great.

We used Lanksy last time and really liked it. They where there waiting for us even though our flight got delayed for 2 hours and they were there to pick us up on time too to go back to the airport. They even provided a booster sear for my niece.

You might price a cab instead. Nothing is faster or more direct.
Well a Uber or Lyft would be the exact same time/directness as a cab but cost a third as much. Although, I think in your case a nonstop shuttle sounds fine. We always take Uber because it’s the cheapest option but there’s only 2 of us and no kids/carseats to worry about.

After seeing the Super Shuttle driver smoking in the van (it didn’t have passengers, but still), I’m not inclined to ever take it. We used Lansky, and I think it was $150-ish round trip. We had 3 adults and 3 car seats, not including the driver.

It's $240 now, plus tip. Although that's the cheapest I've found for a town car service.

Had a very good experience on Supershuttle last trip and will be using them again. We have 4 adults and one child in car seat.

For that price, rent a car for the time, if you have parking included where your staying. Or look at one way.
We checked all of them out. Costco ended up being the cheapest for us. Could have done one way both cheaper, but took the full week since we have parking included. $180 all in.

We use Supershuttle when the kids come in after I am there. The dedicated shuttles are great. We've never experienced a smoker.

I have used Super Shuttle with a good experience in the past. Only issue I had with DL Express is they couldn't get the big bus into the Grand Californian due to traffic.

We are going next month, booked through Disney and they only book Karmel Shuttle now, so this will be a new experience.

Have you priced a limo? Last time I had a large group a limo came out to only $4 more per person compared to super shuttle (including $20 tip each way). The Kids loved riding in a limo and there were drinks and snack available for everyone.

Actually I've done a couple of comparisons and Taxi's weren't that much. In my experience a cab was 30 to 50% more and is a little quicker because it's actually sitting there waiting for you at the airport. You don't have to schedule or wait for it at all.

Just did a comparison from SNA (where we have flown in to) to Disneyland Drive using Lyft (Uber is down)
Standard Lyft - $24~$28
LYFT XL - $32~36
Taxi Van (big enough for large family) from what I have actually paid has been $36 to $44.

BTW, taxi's we've used have always been clean and free of smoke smell (smoking isn't allowed)

So just another option for folks, especially if you have a larger group since they have larger vehicles available at no extra charge and is the same fee regardless of riders or luggage.

Cheers,
Scott

Really I used DL express for the pass 3 years and always dropped us off in front of the Hotel. No problems getting into the hotel grounds.

I think Super Shuttle can only be considered reliable if you are taking them from the airport to your destination. But S.S. really messed up my plan when I had to get to SFO a couple of years ago. I booked the private option to the airport several days in advance for an early morning flight. I hadn't flown for many years prior to that, and I was flying alone, so I was nervous about getting there on time and I didn't want to make stops along the way. The morning of my flight, they texted me twice informing me that driver X, and then driver Y were on their way to pick me up. Expecting someone to pick me up any minute, I was waiting in my building's lobby. I then got a phone call telling me that they couldn't get anyone to pick me up for my flight that was a couple of hours away! I was furious, and the only thing they tried to do was offer me a cab, but they couldn't tell me when it would arrive! I threw my luggage in my car and drove to SFO myself. I was surprised that traffic was very light at that time of the morning because 101 traffic is notoriously bad on the peninsula. But as I got into my car, I was worried that I would miss my flight. Luckily, I made it to the airport on time. I emailed S.S. to let them know how awful and unprofessional it was to leave someone in the lurch like that. The response was as pathetic as it was generic. They didn't even offer a discount coupon as an apology. I will never use them again.

Well, technically they did drop us off in front of the hotel, on Disneyland Drive. We had to cross the street to get on the hotel property. But the driver said he is supposed to drop us at the front door of the lobby on the hotel property, but it was gridlock. There was no such issue on the return trip.

Just had a look into Lansky, this will be our first time in LA not renting a car.
They charge an extra $15 for international pick up (except from Canada)?????

That does not seem unreasonable. A good car service will monitor arrival times, and have the driver standing at the exit from customs/immigration. Some passengers will only take a few minutes with customs, but an hour would not be unusual (when several large planes arrive) — so $15 is just a surcharge for the wait. Air Canada (and perhaps other flights from Canada) do not arrive at the International Terminal, and might not have long customs delays
