I disagree with your believe that an age limit/requirement would avoid accidents; given that their are many kids with developmental/sensory issues an age requirement doesn't necessary mean a child is fully potty trained or won't have an accident.
A swim diaper doesn't prevent a kid from pooping or peeing in the pool- it just holds in the UFO. I can understand why some people wouldn't want to be in water that someone defecated in- be it they were aware of it or not.
Right. I'm not saying that an age limit would STOP or AVOID it. I'm just saying that having a "potty trained" rule means MORE accidents instead of less.
I get what you're saying that if a child defecates in his/her swim diaper, that *some* of that will still go into the pool, and will usually go unbeknown to the majority of people in the pool. But at some point, we have to trust the purification system (i.e. chlorine, bromine and other chemicals) to do their jobs to prevent the spread. I know it's not a 100% fool-proof method, which is why there are OTHER policies to prevent these things from happening, but they still do.
I just think that having a potty trained rule is going to cause MORE accidents, not less.
