hi,
I am thinking of splitting 4 park days with a non park day in the middle. I was thinking of doing Mickeys Backyard Bbq that evening and enjoying the pool at our resort. What do you like to do on a non park day?
Thanks!

Your idea seems just about perfect! Sleep in, chill and play in the pool, resort ADR in the evening. We like to hang out at DS, too. You didn't mention if you had kids or not, but we like the outdoor movie/party at the resorts at night, too.

We like to explore other resorts, swim if weather pemits and have a nice relaxing meal. We aren't Disney Springs fans, so it's not something we do.

I like to explore other resorts and have a meal at one of them.

My wife and I left my son with the grandparents .. and we explore Yacht/Beach Club resort and had lunch at Beaches & Cream that day too .. relaxing for us . .and relaxing for them!

We had dinner at Trail's End restaurant so we could check out Wilderness Campground. It was fun and my son enjoyed the boat ride and seeing the sites at the campground. We would have potentially stayed for more activities at campground, but it was pouring rain after dinner (the boats stopped running). We had to wait in the rain for a bus to show up to take us back to MK.

Disney Springs is usually our choice. The Disney miniature golf is great fun, but not an inexpensive activity. And of course pool time!

Typically we stay at POR, so like you, we enjoy hanging out by the pool. We also go to Disney Springs for some light shopping and exploring. Another thing we've enjoyed in the past is renting a boat from one of the resorts' marinas. One of the best places to do this is at one of the monorail resorts, because you can drive the boat around Seven Seas Lagoon in front of MK.

We've done that. We have also toured other resorts.

IF we go in October, I'd like to do a water park and mini golf.

Sometimes a chill day is just what you need!

We also have a relax day as I call it right in the middle, its spa day for me and fishing for my husband. and night at Disney Springs with dinner at the Boathouse...

We sleep in, grab a quick lunch, hang by the pool, take naps, dinner, then a night cap.

We sometimes do boat ride day as I call it. From OKW, POR take a boat to DS walk around DS. Take a bus to MK boat to GF, boat to Poly, boat back to MK, boat to Wilderness resorts. Boat back to MK, then bus back to our resort! Of coarse we walk around at most boat stops.
My wife loves to pin trade with all the cm's!

Our non-park days are usually taken up by shopping at DTD (Disney Springs now) or having breakfast at Kona Cafe and riding the monorail and checking out the other resorts.

We do as little as humanly possible on down days. Sleep, eat, swim, maybe do some shopping. I do like to see what fun activities are at the resort that day in case they have something fun for the kiddos or a movie that night on the lawn.

Visit Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. We love doing water parks on our off days. I read a post from someone around here that suggested going to the water parks in the afternoon because a lot of people who get there when the gates open get tired and leave by mid-afternoon.

Sleep in and relax! Enjoy the hotel pool, go play a round of miniature golf, and then head to Disney Springs for some shopping and munching!

Because we take 2 week trips I build multiple down days into our schedule. As others have said, we use the time to catch up on naps, maybe enjoy the pool and our resort, just laying chilly. Resort hopping to check out pin boards is something I enjoy as well.Of course we also use it for housekeeping - the laundry fairies never seem willing to travel with us to WDW. :laundy: We do usually use one of our non park days to go to the area formerly known as DTD...what is it now? Disney Springs or something?

We enjoyed (2) non park days....slept in, had breakfast, late morning until early afternoon by pool. Naps & showers. One day we went to the Wilderness Lodge and ate at Whispering Canyon Café. The 2nd day we went to Ft. Wilderness and saw the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Loved both our non park days - very relaxing after park days.

We like to do the monorail crawl to the other resorts. Sometimes we get a drink or a snack, but mostly we love to do pin trading with the CMs at the other resorts! :thumbsup2

We've gone tp dtd water parks mini golfing rented a boat done cane pole fishing rented a car went to xoxo beach and the space center all sorts of things to do
