Non disney hotels getting FP+

If it's based on park admission and not resort stay, then annual passholders should have been the next group they brought on board for testing. We'll be there in just over a month and just because we chose to stay at Bonnet Creek won't have access to FP+, despite being annual passholders. I know Wyndham Bonnet Creek is not a Disney owned resort, but neither are Swan/Dolphin.

We don't know WHY Disney is allowing S/D guests access at this point ahead of Annual Passholders. But the fact that they are does not preclude their ultimate intent...and Disney has publicly stated that FP+ is a function of park admission and NOT resort stay, and the Term&Conditions state that MYW and AP holders will have a 60 day pre-booking window.

It is still in "testing" phase, which is why they DON'T yet.

They are going to have to allow S/D guests at some point. I think that AP holders would be coming very soon. Even though disney has given the okay for launch I don't see it happening for about a month maybe.

I posted this just recent in the other thread about restrictions on FP+.
We go to HS for one day next trip from our FL vacation we own 15 min from WDW. We are AP holders from Iowa. We were invited to the test our last trip at BLT 4 weeks ago. Husband decided he wanted to try out FP+ so he went on the site, and booked FP+ rides (I believe 3) and lunch at Brown Derby. We are not staying on property. We do have the print outs from the Disney site proving our reservations but they are also on the site so who knows what will take place. We assume they are rolling in AP holders into the testing. Husband thinks it is because we were invited last trip. He wanted to try out the system before our NYE trip. He has that booked too. FP+ and ADRs.

There are many posts from AP holders that have FP+ access due to a previous qualifying resort stay. I don't think that they have added AP holders without a previous stay YET, but I could be wrong. Things are moving pretty quick...

A CM recently told me that the next big test will be AP holders, beginning around Jan 5th when the current resort testing was said to be running through. Who knows if that is accurate.

In regards to S & D resort, Idk, but might they be trying to do a test of offsite guests, but still limiting it so they know which guests they are testing by limiting the test to only S & D guests? This would be an easier way to keep track of the guests testing FP+. Still sort of controlled but they can't get magic bands and they must book FP+ in the parks on day of visit at the kiosks, unlike Disney resort guests.

I haven't read the whole thread, so, sorry if any of the above was mentioned already.

AP holders, once they have a MagicBand from a qualifying stay, are "enabled" in the system to continue to book FP+ in advance (up to 60 days out), even if they don't have another reservation in the system. You can book up to 7 or 14 days worth of FP+ - we aren't sure why some get 7 and some get 14.

They have not enabled AP holders as a group yet.

You are correct they have not added AP holders without a resort stay.

I booked one night at POP and was able to use FP+ for 7 days. But, and this is a big BUT, keep in mind that things can change at any time. Just look at the tier system that will be used in EPCOT in Nov and Dec.

Yes! That is why I'm still on the fence about what I should do. Are you a AP holder? Have you booked on sight before. I'm wondering if one or both of those two things have to be in place before this would work.

It doesn't seem so. I have read reports that this one night onsite stay works for people with MYW tickets as well as UT tickets, so I know that an AP is not required. I also have seen reports that this works for people with no previous onsite stays as long as the onsite part of the split stay is the FIRST part.

ok, thank you. I think I've been convinced, it wouldn't hurt too try it out, just have to patiently wait now for the 60 day mark.

What drives me crazy is that even though Disney has publicly stated this, there are so many people who keep insisting that FP+ and FP+ prebooking will be limited to onsite guests. Arggggg! I just want to smack them every time they post it.

Please Disney, just be done with this testing and get on with the rollout so we can stop arguing about it.

I'm at WDW now and I spoke with a cm who did say that pre booking will most likely be limited to on property guests.

::yes::

Not good. Not good at all. I'm pissed now, but if I was an AP holder, I would be REALLY pissed

Only time will tell. Some logical way of allowing prebooking for everyone might just put my concerns to rest.

Disney offers package delivery to some other hotels? Why wouldn't they offer FP+ too

Please Disney, just tell us what the end game will look like now and then we will all be able to stop the speculation.

Perhaps they don't know what the end game will look like until they see if the testing works?

I don't think they have settled on the final version and that is why we have this loooong on-going test phase. And Disney isn't announcing, "Here's how it will be."....because they haven't decided on that yet. When I tested FP+ in Dec. 2012, I was offered tiered choices in all four parks. When I tested earlier this year, there were no tiers. Currently, there are tiered offerings in Epcot, but those limitations aren't imposed in the other 3 parks. So, to me, it really does seem like Disney is testing various FP+ programs.
