Non disney hotels getting FP+

Maybe that's where the rumor is from, that if off site guest wants bands, they can purchase them......

I just selected my second set of bands. We were there last week and used our magic bands and we have a trip in January and they wanted me to customize these bands. Normally I would've passed, but found if you don't customize, you will have a set waiting for you in Grey at checkin. After my granddaughters band broke on her second day of our trip, I realized how fragile they are, so decided to make sure I did order that back up set. My daughter was with us and brought their customized bands and when she checked in they gave her a second set of grey customized bands at checkin. She didn't know what she was going to do with them, but after the one band broke, it was nice to have a backup. And both bands were active already, so no need to re-visit the front desk.

Interesting how experiences are so different. I have four bands and have been wearing one for more than a month (as a reminder to put those snacks down ) and have had no issues.

As for multiple bands, just make sure you tap them all to your door lock the first time you enter the room. This will set them all as room keys.

I love having multiple bands as it lets me coordinate to what I am wearing. :0). I will have a full set of all seven colors by January.

Now that is funny. We did order different colors for January. I have 2 sets of reservations for April/May, hmmm, it would be great if the color choices are different then.

I like your reminder to put the snacks down......I know how you feel. We were in WDW 16 days with a 3 day visit to Vero prior and I came home to having foot surgery, so now with stitches in my foot, I can't even get on my treadmill to work off the long trip and too much eating and drinking and the stitches don't come out for 2 weeks!!! followed by the holidays. Looks like buffet pants for my for my January trip!

Yes we are at the dolphin..and yes if there were a lot of people doing it it would be slow. The was a large family ahead of us and they couldn't decide...then when the cm said the shouldn't use regular Fastpass as well, they balked and decided not to use it.

They really should have more than one or two people at these kiosks especially for those who don't know anything and don't do there research.

Still unclear on what I will need to do. We are staying for two days after the cruise at the Dolphin in Dec. We have old UCT tickets. First day will be EPCOT.

(1) We have to go to GS and change the old tickets to the new tickets with RDIF. (Will we keep our hopper and plusses on the old media tickets?)

(2) We find the CM with an iPad to set up 3 FP for rides/attractions?

(3) We can or cannot use the old FS system after signing up for 3 FP?

1. Yes you have to get new outdated tickets
2. If you want FP+ you will need to go to the kiosks throughout the park.
3. If you use FP+ you cannot use FP- disney is phasing out the old system and does not want people using both.

I think you've made your point Just confirming from the "non resort" point of view, where it is more directly tied to tour park ticket, they have not implemented any lockout from regular FPs..

Just saw this it has been officially announced that magic bands for annual pass holders will come in 2014 not this year.

Officially announced where? All I've gotten is "in the coming months".

Of course, they could at least enable FP+ for the card in the meantime...

Edit: I see ItM says it is in the new Monitor...haven't gotten mine yet.

Where did you call? Most phones end up at call centers and they are not necessarily well informed of changes.

OK...I will mention that the CM did not mention park hopping at all the other other family...only that they shouldn't use regular FP if they use FP+ (not that they couldn't)...but also, they've been changing their tune lately as originally they encouraged guests to use both, but more and more they are saying no. It may not be to everyone's ears yet though.

Now with POP apparently beginning testing of "No KTTW/stripeless KTTW" tomorrow, it seems now they actually want to prevent using both - regardless of park hopping.
