Non-Disney Buses?

Can you use non-Disney transportation to do the hotel pickup to the WP, then the Boardwalk for the reception? I don't think we need a 3 hour minimum for that, so it seems rather pricey using Disney. Can we hire Mears, or another company? If nothing else, then for transportation for the bride and groom!

When you rent a bus threw Disney it is Mears. They have smaller vehicles but
I'm not sure of the price.

As long as you don't need to go backstage, you can hire outside transportation and it would probably be cheaper and give you more options. I know not many people have done it but I think it's definitely worth looking into. Maybe ask any outside vendors (if you're using them) if they can recommend anyone. You could also try the knot's local wedding boards and find vendor reviews.

The only snag is, Mears has pretty much cornered the transportation market in Orlando .

However, expensive charters are not your only option. You can do a one-way or round trip on any of the various forms of transport Disney offers (motor coach, minibus, van, limo, town car) for much less.

You can add up to two stops to these for $20-$50, depending on which type of transport it is, and it still works out to less than a charter. I think you mentioned that you have the PassPorter Disney Weddings book - there's a breakdown of all the options and prices on page 106.
