Travelled to Orlando many times over the last 8 years and will be there again at Christmas. I am getting fed up with eating at the chain type restaurants and am wondering if anyone can recommend smaller independant restaurants that are still in the main tourist areas.

bubaloos bodacious bbq is very good value and fun. it doesnt look much from the out side or the inside but the food is delicious www.bubbalous.net shows menus and locations. only three days and it is the first meal stop on our holiday :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Many good restaurants are off the main tourist tracks and you should look on Sand Lake Road to the west. In the Dr Philips area there are a lot of restaurants that have seen very few tourists.
Another one we found in June was on the 192. It was called the Colorado House of Beef and had only just opened. Didn't look too good from the outside but the food and service was very similar to what it used to be like 15/20 years ago. Best meal and service of the trip and we sent other friends who agreed.

For the Sand Lake places just do a Google search for 'restaurants west sand lake road' you will find lots.

I seem to remeber Celebration having a nice Italian and a couple of other Restaurants.
