noise at monorail resorts?

Hello
I'm curious. At the Contemporary and Polynesian, can you hear the monorail when you are in your room, especially when trying to sleep? We are especially interested in staying at the Poly. I noticed some rooms are close to the monorail tracks.

Thanks

You'd need Superman's hearing to pick up traces of the monorail rumbling into the Contemporary station. Guest rooms are soundproofed.

I haven't stayed at Rartonga -- the Polynesian longhouse closest to the monorail tracks -- in years, but it's far enough away so that I doubt it would disturb your slumber.

Absolutely not. We've stayed in both Aotearoa and Raratonga at the Poly and you can't hear anything. The rooms are extremely well sound proofed and the Monorail is very quiet to begin with.

We stayed in the Contemporary tower on the floor just above the monorail station. We never heard a thing; people or otherwise. We could feel a vibration every now and then, but never enough to wake us up at night. :cloud9:

In the Tower rooms of the Contemporary you can't hear the Monorail go by, it's so quiet. If your on the 4th floor in the Bay View Gift store as an example or just walking around, then you hear the Monorail & a bit of a vibration which is nothing.

You know, you are making this idea hard to resist . . . ;)
Thank you!

One caution about another source of noise at the Contemporary: In the tower rooms over the south end, which is over Chef Mickey's, you are likely to enjoy the party song every 15 minutes and it's not very easy to sleep in or catch a or dinner time nap.

You are correct about the party song from Chef Mickey's because my family & I have heard it before in our room when we had one in that area of the Contemporary Tower. (For the record it did not bother us at all) However the song happens every 30 minutes, so I just thought I would clear that up for you.

absolutely! the first time at the poly we stayed at Aotearoa facing the monorail/parking lot and yes, i heard it everytime it passes the room and i hated it! i will never stay at a room that is facing the monorail again... it drove me crazy! and the balcony door was already closed... i can still hear the noise.

the second trip, we stayed at Tokelau.. big difference. it was quiet. i was happy. :)
