April 2025 Refurbs

I will update re: Soarin, Matterhorn and Tiki when 2 or more days go by. The DL website is known to be well wonky. In any event, I think all will be open by the 70th.

The Disneyland website shows Matterhorn, Tiki Room, Soarin, Sorcerers Workshop, Anna and Elsa’s Royal welcome close on April 28.

Looks like the refurbs are happening: The Disneyland website shows Matterhorn, Tiki Room, Soarin, Sorcerers Workshop, Anna and Elsa’s Royal welcome close on April 28 and remain closed on April 29.

So much going down, its a shame they didn't do this closer to the start of the year...spring break is going to be busy and lots of rides and attractions going down. (yes yes the 70th...but wish they worked them out in Jan/Feb)

Also this to me shows why Lincoln opening in May would have been a good thing as well, at least to me

And it is the last days of the So Cal Ticket sale as well.

Agreed. This should have been done earlier. Especially Soarin. Could have done it before the switch to the California show.

Yeah, like I don't hate they are getting things ready but its a lot at once when we have had months to get things ready

the crowds are bad now...no idea how must worst with all these things down and the parks even more packed

Dam Soarin needed to go down...while its cool it will be back soon. I think it should have been down for a few weeks to get things ready for even more crowds

Edit - I found it, it changes back to Soarin Around the World on April 22.

With the announcement this morning of the Buzz overhaul at WDW, I'm assuming that will eventually make it's way to DL. Only time will tell.
@BrianL wrote the following when comparing the attraction at WDW to that at DLR. "Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin - Similar, but guns are on swivels attached to the car and targeting is not as good." The upgrade at WDW makes it sound like you will be able to pick up the guns like at DLR. I'm not sure of the change in targets.

I'm very surprised this was not part of the 70th

Like I'm excited for the Walt show...but with so many repeat shows coming back and not much new...you'd think they'd want more on offering for this event

For anyone who hasn't experienced the WDW version - it's a 1.0 iteration. From day one, DLR's was a significant improvement - a lot of this update is just getting it to our level. The quality of the ride at WDW was almost something closer to something at Six Flags or Cedar Fair (or even the Lego version at some malls) - something that became comparatively embarrassing after a while. "The Magic Kingdom is a kids park" - so it was okay if it was meh.

It wouldn't surprise me if they bring this update to DLR, but I don't know that there's as much as an imperative as there is at WDW. WDW's has desperately needed this for a long, long time.
