I wanted to post this as a separate question, so nobody misunderstands and thinks I'm flaming them, because I'M NOT.

How noisy is FW? If one is a light sleeper, can one hope for a good night's sleep while camping here? I know that buses run into the wee hours, and start up early. I know that campers who arrive late are allowed to set up. I also know they have posted "quiet hours", but I don't know if they have a "lights out" policy.

I would be camping in a truck camper, so have a little protection from noise. What are people's experiences with noise disturbances?

I am a light sleeper. When we had the pop up without AC, I could listen to the campfire program and movies, hear the fireworks and EWP, hear the train whistle at MK. These didn't bother me and in fact were part of the trip to me. Bus noise never really bothered me, and we stayed in the 1600 loop near one of the main roads. The bug truck would wake me in the morning, but I am an early riser anyway. Since we have the hybrid with AC, I hear none of this. I actually sort of miss it. If you are disturbed by the noise, you might try just running the AC fan if it isn't warm enough to run your AC. That should be enough to drown out the background noises.

You shouldn't have any problems with the bus noise if you request a site that backs up to the woods instead the main road. Usually the sites in the back end of the loops are alot quieter. Another problem with backing up to the road is the large motorhomes, especially the diesel ones, can be quite noisey as they drive by. With regards to late check ins - in all the trips we have made to FW, we have never had anyone come in super late at night and try to setup. Not that it doesn't happen, but we have never experienced it.

You should have a nice quiet night's sleep.
