I'm fine with keeping the dinner as is and changing the brunch. In fact, since the brunch is my favorite, I'm all for having it on our first sea day (4/12) :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Ack! After I read Dee's post I sent an email to Dana in Concierge and she emailed back that they moved our Palo Pal dinner to the 16th at 6.

I'm sorry that we didn't select a time/date ahead of calling...

I just called her and she said that the dates are never confirmed until 30 days out because all the requests go to Palo Special Services and then return to Concierge 30 days out. It's at that point that it is confirmed. They have various events in the private room and nothing can be confirmed until closer to sailing.

That being said, I think we should keep it scheduled for the 16th at 6 and see if it gets confirmed for that day. It could very well be moved to a day of their choosing. Also, if anyone wants to be put on the waitlist ---please continue to email Brooklyn. Since she's the gatherer of names, it may be easier for her to keep the list. Thanks Brooklyn! I'm not sure I can handle another list right now. ha!

I'm sorry to those who have had to rearranged their schedule.

Yeah I posted awhile back with a questionnaire for those participating to fill out, but then was away for a bit. But we do need to make decisions for it so that people can prepare.
I have a list that I inherited, but it is probably out of date. Those that want to participate will probably have to reconfirm to me, or let me know. I will post the list I have again just in case.

1. With it being a longer cruise, it should only be 5 - 6 gifts TOPS. 14 is just alot of day! What does everyone think?

2. Spending limits I have had on the past were usually anywhere from 15-30 bucks total for all gifts. This amount can be changed, but probably need to decide it soon.

3. Most people save their best gift for the end at the reveal, but not everyone makes it to the reveal, so it depends on if everyone wants to have another meet or not.
The reveal should be on a day close to the end....maybe the last sea day or something?

My email is mich.888@live.com, and Lynne was great to put it on the main website so if anyone needs it, it will always be available.

Here are my votes...5 gifts and one at the reveal. If you miss the reveal then just drop the 6th one off.

Any more kids out there that want to be apart of it?!?!?!?!?!? I would rather DD's be doing this with the kids then me with adults but either way, I am super excited for it.

Ok and a spending limit of $30 works for me.

I bought the FE on eBay. Actually, I had it custom made. My choice of colors, names, logos and number of pockets (make sure you e-mail the seller in advance, with any questions / custom requests). There are a few people selling them on ebay. They seem to be past / current DCL fans. Search for FE or FISH EXTENDER in the subject line. You can also do an advanced search, to search out the seller I used ... gradysmommy.

Most of the sellers will make them with as many pockets as you prefer.

I am starting to feel like I want to order new ones!

Yes we did do the Secret Mickey on the WB PC - it was fun :)

Priceline used to only guarantee a room for 2 people - do not know if that has changed - that is why we quit using it when I need all 4 of us in one room. They say you can call and ask for a 2 bedded room but you will only get it if the hotel has room and they want to do it.

Just read the fine print before doing it.

Krisann

Thanks for the info. Will book a Kid Suite.

The WB PC was our first DCL cruise and I couldn't keep up with the group, so I probably missed it. ha!

I just ordered from the same seller! She has quite the little buisness going on with us!!! I'm glad to hear you are happy with your finished product!

I am currently NOT on the Secret Mickey list... but if we follow Brooklyn's suggestions above-- I would like to add JUST GAVIN (DS, 10) to the list.

I guess Brooklyn and Gavin could always just be secret pals if there are no takers. They will enjoy riding hte elevators to each others rooms for delivery!

Oh I see lots of navy blue pinstripes for gifts....:rotfl:

Can we request them to be? Seriously? Oh & I don't support the Steinbrenners!

As for the details on the FE...

I heard in the past that each participating family provides (at least) one item to each stateroom that signs up as part of the FE exchange? I like this idea! Is this how we plan on doing it?

Works for me...it would be cute for them to talk about their gifts and not realize their pal was under their nose!

Yes can we establish FE rules too........are we doing one gift per stateroom??? I know some people do gifts gifts and adult gifts, etc...but can we set up some ground rules?!?!?!?! :confused3

Am I not allowed to talk about the logos anymore?? I love the logos, and feel that I missed out on something important. It was my fault for being away a few days, but I am just trying to catch up.

You can talk about them. I just keep getting fixated on them. Which means I push, push, push and drive others (and myself!) crazy.

Then I snapped out of it and realized I would do the sensible thing in the end anyway which is go with the group (I was wanting to utilize more than one logo for name tags). Any logo we don't use will make great magnets. And it's not that I didn't like the other logos, I just liked so many of them I didn't want to give them up.

Sorry you missed Round one; the top vote getter was Captain Mickey and second was the running Donald.

I like the 6 gift idea too - I hope we are on the list - I do think I sent in our info - all four of us are doing it and I even have been buying things for the past year! I just need to have actual people to go with the gifts. I have been getting small items and flat items to help with transport home for everyone.

$30 spending limit is good with me too - I have been buying things at a Disney Wharehouse thingy when I find good deals!

As for a fish extender we have never had real ones - one cruise was a Christmas Cruise and we used stockings, then the last 2 cruises I ran out of time and just used gift bags :)

I have an embordiery machine and will start making a real one next week! I want to find fabric with everyone's favorite character on it to do in their Mickey heads. I also want to make them independent of each other some how so if we are traveling without one of us we can adjust or if we ever go to 2 rooms we can separate them and not have to make new ones.

I also plan to make a pocket for each person as well as the top one will be a "family" one as I know many people do family gifts and it gets confusing sometimes.

I will post a picture when I am done next week.

We are not on the secret mickey list but a kid to kid secret mickey we would be interested.

If you need some extra practice you can make one for us! :rotfl2:

YEAH!!!! KIDS!!!!! I would still be interested in an adult one but I really think my girls would have a blast with this!!! DD does it in her theatre group and it is such a rewarding experience for the kids. :thumbsup2

all the ones I have been part of the coordinator matched kids of the same age (or close ages) up with other kids of the same age and adults with adults - I just figured that would be what we are doing again

Last cruise DH was not part of it and I felt bad so this year I signed him up - I hope maybe there is at least one other man also :confused3

My kids love it and so do I.

It just does not seem like there are many kids at all signed up. Let's hope this is the start to lots more sign ups for kids!!!

I totally agree!!! That would be SO funny!!! Easier for us "shoppers", too! :) Can we make this official? (And not let Gavin & Brooklyn know!) :rolleyes1

Sounds AWESOME to me.

Kristi

...and in front is "Bound for Barcelona," in a close second is "Bound for Barcelona."

With 4 of the 5 entries being...TA DA - "Bound for Barcelona," I think we know which will win.

Guess what we'll put on our lanyards? Hmmm..."Bound for Barcelona" ??

I love Donald running. Perhaps I can see myself running to catch the boat (although that might apply more on the Med cruise). But also the simplicity of the design. And Donald gets so left out of stuff. But he is really the sailor of the gang. Think of his shirt and hat. (Not to mention orange and blue are my college colors - War Eagle.)

I love Mickey, Minnie & Goofy in their nautical attire showing through the portholes. Plus that great boat with gold scroll work.

How do you decide? You don't really have to. If you get a lanyard, it's going to probably be medium blue with white lettering, saying "Bound for Barcelona" (with additional words to the effect of 2010 Disney Magic Eastbound Transatlantic April 10-24). [Okay, Krisann?]

Why do I say that? Because medium blue goes with both the vote front-leaders and the Cap'n Mickey logo.

I'll make multiple nametags for anyone who wants them. It's 14 nights; I'll need a change at some point. And I WANT to wear both of them. :)

As long as everyone has seen the couple of options, they should be able to recognize the various nametags (since the lanyards will be alike).

And we know we'll be seeing everything as a magnet somewhere.

We are making new FEs this weekend. Ours are raggy and need to be retired.

Going with whatever fabric we have and making more generic FEs this time. Most of my sewing stuff is in storage til the house is done, wah wah wah.

DCL just called...they have my Palo straightened out. Yeah! I'm sailing solo with a table for 2 for dinner April 14 at 7:30 and tea April 13 at 3 if anyone wants to join me.

I wouldn't mind joining you for tea as I am also sailing solo. I've never had a chance to do the tea before.

One idea is to use really strong velcro to attach the pockets, then you could switch the pockets around as needed. Don't know if it would work, but its a thought.

I've got 4 people for a ROCK van. This is the van that wants to take their time on the rock either because they want to or can't walk fast/far.

Kristi (me)
John and Charlotte (Happy Goofy)
Linda (Stlkeeler)

Let me know if you are interested in joining our happy group.
