Charles keeps mentioning strange things like that -- yesterday he said something about skiing (um, I hate outdoor activities and the cold), the Grand Canyon (I told him he was nuts -- he doesn't like to hike from the entrance of AK to Everest -- what would make him want to hike all around the Grand Canyon), and a ranch (really -- us? I can just see Connor falling off a horse). However, I told him to look into everything and price it. He also mentioned a cruise -- I could live with that as long as it is a Disney cruise.

Marc is like that too! Where do they come up with these things. I can just see Connor's face while he is perched up on a horse with a cowboy hat all crooked on his head.

Marc's other suggestion is always Vermont. What the heck are we going to do in Vermont?

I can only endorse Non-Disney CP Family Vacation if it is to New England so I can meet you.

When we went to Vermont we went to Ben and Jerry's and hung out on a lake. I have never been so happy to get back to civilization!

New England and a DIS meet would be fun!

I went to Vermont when I was in high school with my parents. We went the week of Thanksgiving. It was nice but it was so much snow and my family doesn't ski, so we went to Ben & Jerry's and the Cabot Cheese Factory. Those were the two highlight.

I'm all for renting a cabin on a lake, I could sit and read all week on a dock but that's about it. No tents.

We are getting the heat and humidity here too.....but we are also supposed to get severe weather tonight into tomorrow....so EEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!

Jackie, what is wrong with Charles?!?!?!??! Did he leave his brain in WDW?!?!?!?!? Here are some worthy alternatives.....a.) Disney Cruise b.) Trip to California to see Disneyland c.) Trip to France to see Disney Paris........I think you catch my drift!!!! Crazy man.....pffft!!!!! Like HE is really going to do vacation planning....seriously, no man I know has the desire or patience for planning a family vacation....pffftttt again Mr. Charles!!!!!

Our weather radio already went off to alert us that severe weather is a very good possibility today.....YUCK!!!

Megan and I are having the most glorious day so far---haven't ventured out of our PJs yet!!! I haven't had a day like that in SO LONG....I seriously can't remember when it was!!! I have been so busy lately with helping out with watching my girlfriends' kids, the recital, and the trip, that I am just exhausted!!! THIS IS NICE!!!!!!

I have been productive though........I made a MAJOR update to my PTR---need your help girlies!

Hey girls!

Yes, we've got the hideous weather here too! In fact, I think I was channeling my inner CP yesterday when we were under a tornado watch and a thunderstorm warning. The sky was BLACK and very ominous!! We had another warning this morning and I ran out of bed at 6:30 because I thought I had left van windows open. Luckily Greg was up and informed me he had closed them BEFORE I went running out into it. They reported 50-60 mph wind gusts in our town and lots of trees dropped branches but no serious damage. More storms tonight but then quiet and less humid for a few days.

I think Paula was hoping for Nobby in July, not sure of her dates though. I would like him the first couple weeks of August if possible.

I haven't been as obsessively dising for a couple days. I have instead been *GASP* planning my non-disney vacation I agree, I would rather be working my ADR's but it's not in the works but I AM excited to have a vacation to look forward to and I promise myself not to compare everything to WDW (how could it?) In fact last night when Greg and I were talking about what he wants to do in the Dells, I finally said "this is going to be your DisneyWorld isn't it" He just smiled. I think it will be fun but go-karts, mini-golf and water slides just won't give me the same feeling I'm sure!

I have also seen beautiful pics of the state parks in the area and really want to take a day to do some hikes. I'm going to try to convince Greg to do 3 nights in a nearby town instead of 2 nights at one of the resorts (the dells version of off-site I guess ). We can do 3 nights plus purchase a day pass to the resort for the same price as 2 nights at the resort. I tried to get Greg to agree to a couple nights in Chicago but he is not a big city person and he just wants to drive in, stop at a museum and leave in the same day. I guess I will humor him and see if I can get a few "extras" of my own.

Julez, how far are you from Kenosha, WI? I think we will plan on arriving there mid-day on August 5, going to a dinosaur museum and having dinner - want to join us? August 6 will likely be our Chicago day, Museum of science and industry (or children's museum if I get my way) That's your day off right?

Jen, we will drive into Michigan on the 6th and be there until the 10th or 11th. Will you still be around then?

Stace, Greg always says he wants to go to a guitar place in Kalamazoo, how far is that from you? I don't want to go to the guitar place but maybe we could meet and do something?

I WAS hoping Nobby could go with us to Hershey the weekend of July 17-19.... but I think he should go to Captiva first, he can still make it to our house by the 16th.....

What do ya think Julez??? I know he'll have fun at the beach with Rachael...i'd hate for him to miss it..... I know Allison is pretty excited about him coming with us too.

I think he has enough travel time to do both... don't all of you????

I am devastated by the Grey's news. Seriously. I'm on Season 3 of my great big Grey's Anatomy Rewatch of 2009 and it has made me fallen in love with that character even more. Sigh.

Well only a few more days and then I will be back home and I can't wait. 10 days from home is way too long if it isn't Disney...but shhh don't tell my mom that LOL!!!

I would like to have Nobby the end of September/October for my birthday LOL!!!

Hey Gnomies!

Whew I am tired! It's been a long week and it's not over yet! I spent my day off today driving my family around and watching them shop (I have to save and the credit card is gone!). I stayed over at their house on Thursday night because we were leaving early (we went to this outlet mall north of toronto...about 2.75 hours from here) and between the dogs and the humidity I didn't get much sleep. But I did get a couple of tops, American Eagle had a great sale! Anyhow, I just thought I'd check in on you lot before I pop off to bed!

We haven't had the nicest weather here either. It's been humid and stormy and scary around here too, but thankfully no tornado warnings yet! You Gnomies stay safe out there. If you need to, you can all come and stay up here with me. We don't get a whole lot in the way of severe weather, however, London is the lightening capitol of Canada!

I think I might actually be planning 2 non-Disney vacations within the next year! Of course there's our fest in April, but my aunt and I really want to go to Vegas together for a few days if we can go cheaply. And then there's the possible trip for DBFF Lauren and I to go to England and Scotland for a couple of weeks. It's soooo different though! You can't really plan much besides hotel, flight and shows in Vegas! And England and Scotland are so vast I don't even really know where to start! I know the basic touristy things I want to see but other than that...??? Lots of time though before those might come up!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday night, and if I don't get on again in the next couple of days, enjoy your weekend!

Katie - Looks like Kalamazoo is about 4 hours from me. Depending on how much time I can get from work and what my finances look like, a meeting could be possible!
