NoAlice?Rabbit,Hatter&Chessie Do a HolidayTrip.NEW11/27 1 More Day&I crush on Snowmen

I have heard of the Inn at Middleton -- beautiful plantation setting! :goodvibes There are lots of great hotels in downtown Charleston as well -- have fun looking and let me know if you need any recommendations! Also, you can get a short-term Tybee rental -- we always rent with Mermaid Cottages, and they rent by the night, even in the summer. :thumbsup2

Owl mugs are adorable.

The pumpkin carving thing - wow - where is that held? Right in Chadds Ford? I really wanted to go to that next year. It looks so fun.

Speaking of which - if you ever plan an outing to Longwood Gardens you should let me know and we can meet up and say Hi.

Yeah for getting your ME tags :cool1: I love that.

Driving trip in July? Denny and I are driving in June and I am trying to decide where to stay on the way down. I want to try to make it to at least Savannah or day 1, but on day 2 I would love to swing by St. Augustine. I really want to see the town. However, I may save that visit for the way back. The cool thing about driving, perhaps the only cool thing about driving :rotfl:, is that there are SO many options to side trips.

I absolutely LOVED Charleston when I went to HHI on my girls trip last year (you missed that whole TR since you were MIA then). Ever since I visited I have been totally obsessed with that area and fantasize that it must be the greatest place on Earth to live. We stayed at HHI DVC resort and it took us about 90 minutes to get to Charleston. There were are so many places to stay. There was a Hampton Inn right in the historic district that looked pretty nice. But even if you drive into the Historic district there is a convenient parking garage.

We are going back to HHI in April and I am looking for a place to stay for one night in Charleston on the way home. Your driving trip sounds fun!

Holy crow! LOVE the owl mugs! Where are they from! Kayla LOVES owls!

On a side note, I also just got a plummy but dark toe color!

LOVE the Zombie pumpkin! That was my favorite! Hilarious!

Hows it going in your neck of the woods? POwer back yet??

Hope you're making it through ok! Hope your neighbor is as well!

I am unfortunately still without power so I've had limited access to the Internet- but we've been able to use my inlaws and the Barnes and Noble's access... (which for me -can be dangerous $ ...) and I did look at Mermaid Cottages... and I really liked what I saw... I am thinking 3 nites in Charleston, 2 in Universal, 3 in Disney, and 2 in Tybee on way back... (I'd like to add more but I don't want to push Eric's patience... (owww... this is so fun to think about...(I need to think of something cheery right now-I'll have to go back and read your Tybee report plus I'll need some restaurants in Charleston... things like Hominy Grill, etc...:cool1:

(He's-(Eric) not good with longer vacations...plus we're planning a special trip in March as part of Em's high school graduation...so I think more than 10 days away in July will be pushing the money envelope-we do have a small amt. of DVC points now for the Disney portion...but still... )

When I can really get some significant time... I'm going to go through the site (Mermaid) really well... so thanks for that...:thumbsup2

Owl mugs are adorable.

Thanks... I like my owls...:thumbsup2

The pumpkin carving thing - wow - where is that held? Right in Chadds Ford? I really wanted to go to that next year. It looks so fun.

Oh wow... yes... that's right you may even be closer to it than I am...It's only about 10-15 minutes to the DE border... I'd meet up with you next year if you wanted... have to go early towards when it opens... (5-9) to get the best parking and before it gets to crowded... It's a lot of fun... great photo ops-I'm sure you could do great things with your camera...:goodvibes

Speaking of which - if you ever plan an outing to Longwood Gardens you should let me know and we can meet up and say Hi.

I love Longwood Gardens...& I haven't been there in a long time... such a treasure...:goodvibes After the holidays...It's a date...:goodvibes

Yeah for getting your ME tags :cool1: I love that.

Exactly... the long stretches of driving not so fun but exploring cool new place... priceless...

Did you write about that trip? I'm in the response screen so I can't see your siggie...I'll have to look after I post this...

Hmmm...let me know where you wind up staying...

Holy crow! LOVE the owl mugs! Where are they from! Kayla LOVES owls!

Hmmm... Owl mugs... one was from a ceramic paint place, the green was from Pier I and the Ivory/brown was from the florist in Peddler's Village and it was reasonable too...;) Kayla has very good taste -I love owls... they are by far my favorite bird...

On a side note, I also just got a plummy but dark toe color!

Great minds...:thumbsup2

LOVE the Zombie pumpkin! That was my favorite! Hilarious!

I thought it was pretty darn funny too...

Hows it going in your neck of the woods? POwer back yet??

Hope you're making it through ok! Hope your neighbor is as well!

No power... trying to make the best of it... very lucky my inlaws are 12 minutes away... am afraid I've had some immature outbursts... and I think I hit my wall yestereday...:furious: well not literally but well you know...:scared:

Well, well, well...

At 7:00 p.m EST it will be exactly 6 full days that my family has been without Electricity- including no fridge, no lights, no heat, no tv, no internet...

I am slightly put out...

I am not a grumpy person by nature nor do I think I take my blessings for granted...

I realize that there are so many people with worse situations and they truly have my thoughts and prayers...

So why is it...

that I feel like...

I am going to have a full on...

Donald Duck style TANTRUM!!!

:donald::donald::donald::donald::donald:

I have realized that I have an amazing Husband and children that have been amazingly good natured (not perfect) - all pretty good sports about his whole novel experience (ordeal)

But we have done some funny although perhaps alternative entertainment...

Last night, the four of us went out to a really traditionally old fashioned diner and afterwards saw Wreck It Ralph...

The food was good and very comforting and Wreck it Ralph was fabulously creative...

Also on Friday night... we snuggled in our bedroom and in keeping with with our Disney Trio Countdown, (Number 5 of 8) we watched one of David and my favorites....

Lilo and Stitch

IMG_0397.jpg

and our Disney trio is

Nani, Lilo and Stitch

IMG_0401.jpg

As Stitch says " this is his family-they may be little and broken... but they are still good" -so sweet, poignant and an incredibly funny film... and a truly "modern" Disney family...

WE will be in Disney in 25 Days and that is cause for celebration....:cool1:

Sorry to hear you are still without power. I would be going nuts! Hope they get the power restored to your area soon.

Wow - 6 days! We went about that long withour power after the big ice storm a few years ago & it was NO FUN! I hope you get power back soon!!

I am so sad you are still without power! That just stinks, big time. Even with in laws so close, it wears on you! I'd be dreaming about my trip too.

Loving your plans, I didn't hit either lounge on your list last trip, need to rectify it next year!

Ugh, I can't believe you are still without power, Patricia! That stinks, and I would have had several full-on Donald Duck tantrums by now. :grouphug:

We will be at Tybee over Thanksgiving, as well, so there will be more ideas for you. :thumbsup2

My kids love Lilo and Stitch!

Wow - I did not know that anyone in the Philly area was still without power. that is just awful. I don't think I could stand it that long. My parents live in Ambler and they were out until Thursday. My brother lives in Collegeville and they never lost it.

Yes - I did write about HHI/Savannah/Charleston. I did this one massive TR (Why not Queue up Another Disney Trip) where I wrote about a couple trips to Williamsburg, the HHI trip (tons of Charleston pictures), and last Decembers Disney trip. Everything has links so its an easy read - you can pick out the Charleston stuff easily.

Your plans sound wonderful. I finally had the Lost on Safari at the Dawa Bar last December and it was super yummy, although I heard the African Margarita is pretty darn good. Because Dec was so awesome, we spent the entire day at AK so we could see the Christmas parade and we took a hour long break at the Dawa Bar. It was pretty nice! :thumbsup2

after this whole Sandy thing, Disney is going to truly feel more magical then ever! I hope your power is restored soon! Are they giving you a time frame at least!?

I really want to go see Wreck it Ralph, and we have no time!! I can't wait though! If you need a warm place, yall are welcome here!

Sorry to hear you are still without power. I would be going nuts! Hope they get the power restored to your area soon.

Thanks for the sympathy... Oh...trust me... I am well on my way to nutsville, crazytown, etc... SUPPOSEDLY by 11 pm tonight we should have power...so that will be at least 7 full days... Hurray!!!:hyper:

Wow - 6 days! We went about that long withour power after the big ice storm a few years ago & it was NO FUN! I hope you get power back soon!!

Thanks -me too... because I hit my wall two days ago and things are definitely not pretty in the recesses of my mind right now...:furious: and even though my neighbors are nice people... it was their tree that took out my power line (not that they planned it)... and they never lost power... we've been invited over several times and maybe tonight we'll go over for dinner... I'll bring a special dish I make on our kerosene heater...:stir:

Yes trip daydreaming takes the edge off:cloud9: and so would one of those drinks right about now...:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

My kids love Lilo and Stitch!

Thanks Jackie... Um it hasn't been my finest moment... In my defense I was pretty good till Friday night/Saturday morning... I was all in to the "let's make this an adventure"... etc... and then all of a sudden something started to snap...:rolleyes1 and I had a pretty childish meltdown... I've got to believe that we're due to go back on pretty soon...:worship:

Awesome... Tybee trippie... I have to go back and reread the first one you wrote as well...:goodvibes

Lilo and Stitch make me laugh too... David was getting hysterical watching it and we have L&S 2 as well which has a whole bit in it where Nani is trying to make "Family Fun" night... they were teasing me about it... (since I do that sometimes too...)

Wow - I did not know that anyone in the Philly area was still without power. that is just awful. I don't think I could stand it that long. My parents live in Ambler and they were out until Thursday. My brother lives in Collegeville and they never lost it.

Actually someone was telling me that a lot of Philly (in the actually city- wasn't too bad because they had mad a massive effort to cut down branches blocking power lines...We're a little bit north of the city and apparently... that never occured to anyone-(to cut down the branches...:rolleyes1) There really doesn't to seem to be much rhyme or reason to who did and didn't loose it around here...:confused3

Oh wow... that sounds like a fun read :thumbsup2... I'm on it... (Links... what a great and novel idea...:rotfl2: )

That sounds really nice... I wish I could transport to the Dawa bar right now...::yes::

after this whole Sandy thing, Disney is going to truly feel more magical then ever! I hope your power is restored soon! Are they giving you a time frame at least!?

YES it is going to be amazingly magical...pixiedust: YES we do have a time frame... 11:00 pm tonight... at which point I will do the happy dance...

I really want to go see Wreck it Ralph, and we have no time!! I can't wait though! If you need a warm place, yall are welcome here!

Well that is the blessing of DVD and on demand...:lmao:- but Wreck it Ralph is good and very cleverly done...:thumbsup2

That is an incredibly sweet offer...

(I can just see it... Bob: "Um who are these people exactly honey?" You:" Oh they're Disboards people." Kayla and Jack "Mom-do we know them... they're pulling up with all these possessions...?" You: "Well from on line- they seem nice..." ...:lmao:)

I'd love to do a Dismeet sometime under less motley circumstances ;)...we're surrounded by inlaws and my mom though and my next door neighbor keeps offering heat and food...although I'm not feeling the love right now... through no purposeful fault of theirs... its just a little hard to take-their tree...we loose the power...:confused3

I'm just keeping the 11pm mantra going in my head....

11pm

11pm

11pm

:worship:

Whew, all caught up! :woohoo:

SO glad to hear that you all made it through the storm safely and hoping your power does come back on soon!! I couldn't imagine going for so long without it! I think I would have melted down by the second or third day, if not sooner!! :scared1: But still good to hear that other than the power, things are okay.

Loved reading about Disneyland and the pumpkin carvings were fantastic! Also the Owl mugs are adorable!

You all are getting SO close to your trip! pixiedust: That's just so exciting!! :goodvibes

I know I've missed commenting on some things that I wanted to, but I'll reread a bit later to refresh my memory!

oh no.. Bob knows the drill lol! Hes quite cool with it! I always wonder what husbands think though!

Praying for 11pm!

Hey Patricia!

My apologies for being away from your TR for so long. I’m here now though and am all caught up!

Great owl mugs your family gave you and love the goth toes ;) Amazing pumpkin carvings, quite a lot of talent in your area – nice B&tB teapot.

Can you believe we’re under 30 days now??? I’m liking the ADRs, nice mix of B/L/D reses. I like that you’re trying some new places in there – always great to expand those dining horizons. Congrats on getting your luggage tags, it feels so much more real with them. Makes you want to pack a bag now doesn’t it?

So sorry to hear that your power got taken out. Your neighbors with the tree should have at least offered an extension cord to run over to your place. It is strange all of the electronic things that you take for granted. We were without power for a mere two days here a couple of winters ago (always happens when it’s cold doesn’t it?) and I remember what a pain it was. I was just thankful that we had a gas stove. I don’t blame you for the Donald Duck tantrum – hope it did some good :furious:

I’m glad you were able to keep to your trios with Lilo & Stitch :goodvibes Day 2 is looking good at DHS, maybe we’ll see you at Sci-Fi Dine-In! Day 3 looks good too with some great AK favorites. Hope you can fit in that adult libation and that it is warm enough for your pool time :)

I hope by now your power is on!!!

Yes well we were pretty lucky although our power is still out...:rolleyes1 but now today is the promised day... we'll see...

Loved reading about Disneyland and the pumpkin carvings were fantastic! Also the Owl mugs are adorable!

Yes that thought has been a great pick me up this past week...

I know I've missed commenting on some things that I wanted to, but I'll reread a bit later to refresh my memory!

I do that all the time...;)

oh no.. Bob knows the drill lol! Hes quite cool with it! I always wonder what husbands think though!

Ok next time we have a crazy Frankenstorm...if you have power... we will show up at your house like a roaming band of gypsies... possessions in tow... Bob will love us... ;) Yes I wonder what they think too... I sometimes mention ideas/ suggestions I've gotten on Disboards... and he just usually goes with it...:scratchin

Praying for 11pm!

Me too but I think God was on another phone call... but that's ok- He has some pretty important stuff to deal with ... we'll be fine another day...;)

Hey Patricia!

My apologies for being away from your TR for so long. I’m here now though and am all caught up!

That's quite ok... it isn't like you haven't had anything on your plate...;) I'm glad things are calming for you...

Great owl mugs your family gave you and love the goth toes ;) Amazing pumpkin carvings, quite a lot of talent in your area – nice B&tB teapot.

Yes that teapot pumpkin was a sentimental favorite of mine... Belle is DD's favorite princess...

No I can't believe it but it's really exciting...:yay: Love love when the luggage tags come...:goodvibes

Yes...:scratchin I know it's not his fault that his tree fell on our power line... but after a week... I'm really working on feeling the love... Eric wants to get a gas stove for our family room now....::yes::

I’m glad you were able to keep to your trios with Lilo & Stitch :goodvibes Day 2 is looking good at DHS, maybe we’ll see you at Sci-Fi Dine-In! Day 3 looks good too with some great AK favorites. Hope you can fit in that adult libation and that it is warm enough for your pool time :)

Hey that's right... what time are your Sci Fi Ressies? Oh DS will swim unless its positively glacier... ;) I'm not a really big drinker... a glass of wine or hard cider usually but right now I am feeling those cocktails...:cool1:

I hope by now your power is on!!!

Well I'm not at home... and its Tuesday EST right now at 2:15... so if its on -I'll happily take it...:scratchin
