Not saying true or false, just that I will wait for OFFICIAL from Disney to verify their webpage is correct or fix the webpage.
Yes, i've also heard this. Read it on Disney Parks Mom's FAQ. Not sure on the reason why though...
They are not part of Disney and are often quite wrong so that wouldn't be any kind of confirmation.
Taking one of the biggest attractions (in terms of ridership) offline?
Interesting strategy. What does it cost them to run it? 10 employees x 6 hours x $10/hr = $600?! I know there's electricity, but are they turning the lights off when its not running? How does $600 per night savings mean anything to them? They risk losing 10 people to this move and they are now in the hole. I don't get it. I guess they know something we dont?
More than that. I think the ride alone has more than that, plus the store, plus on the ground crew, plus coordinators, plus custodial. Closing that area could save a good bit.
Other people are now saying they have called Disney and they have said it's an error and the rides will be running...hmmm....
If they are calling the central line ............. well we all know what that means.
Bottom line if Disney is being flooded with calls and they know it's a mistake, we are talking MINUTES to fix on the website ........ and so far (15 minutes ago) they haven't.
My family focuses specifically on the rides. While the bulk of the crowd is jammed into Main Street and character greets we are able to do about 3 days worth of rides in one evening. It was a family tradition to be ride commandos at these parties. That ended last year when the price was raised beyond what is acceptable. This just guarantees our party days are over.
And you all might be part of the reason why (and that was us some trips) ........... you are saving $30 on a one day ticket to get 8 hours with most of that time low crowds, shorter lines. Eliminating some of the top draws for those trying to save on a ticket may push those folks to buying one day tickets, staying longer etc.
It makes no sense for it to be down. Hopefully they have it running on the party night.
Actually I can make lots of sense from it.
With Splash down and Tom Sawyer closed at night, shutting down BTM can close that entire section of the park and save them plenty of money.
7DMT is often used by guests at the end of the night for a way to extend park time and coincidently on party night will likely put you out in the big crowds, after CMs stopped looking for wristbands ............ perfect timing to see the parade and if you mix in hub the show. Last year there were lots of complaints of guests sighted with no wristbands. Disney has got the TS covered with the booking times or location, stops you on rides and stores and even blocks bathrooms .......... which ride can you virtually hide in until parade time? 7DMT.
PS I'm still going and this will not impact us because we go for the party.
