for anyone who purchase snow globes at Disney beware you can not carry them on the plane with you anymore because of the liquid so either take the chance of breakage in your luggage or your best bet have them shipped home

Thanks for posting that, I never would have thought of that. DD always gets a new snowglobe when we go! :sunny:

Thanks for letting us know. I usually buy a snowglobe when I go down. I hope Disney puts signs up to let people know. :thumbsup2

Hello? Why would Disney post signs? You can't bring LIQUID on planes. Hopefully terrorists will not strangle any one with pantyhose, or next you won't be able to bring clothes on planes. :rotfl:

I always buy a new snow globe when we go. I also always have it shipped. If you ship from Disney I don't think they charge you tax. They also guarantee if anything happens when it is shipped they will replace it. I always have it sent our last night there and I have it in a few days after I get home.

I know your not supposed to bring liquid on the plane but I would of never thought of the liquid in the snowglobe. Oh well.
:confused3

Well we didn't think about our snow globe either when we flew on hte 14th. I had purchased it right before we left POP to head to the airport. As we went through security we were taken out of line and escorted back through to check our snowglobe. I had taken everything else out of our carry ons but never thought about the snow globe. Thankfully the Disney store right by security was able to ship it for us. The CM told us that the resort was supposed to inform us when we bought it that we would have to put it in our checked luggage. She said they were having trouble with all the little trinkets they sell that have water and glitter in them and that they have to tell passengers that they have to go in their checked luggage.

I never thought of this either, thanks for posting.

Shipping is not an option for us Canadians....it costs more than the globe!

For the same reason they post signs that any swords and daggers bought at the shop at the castle at Magic Kingdom has to be shipped, good customer service!!!

A lady ahead of us was pulled to the side as a box of chocolates she had bought had liquid centers. I think they let her thru...but I did hear her mumble something about eating them and not wasting a $14 box of chocolates :rotfl2: I forgot and had salsa from Mexico in a souvineer carry on bag...had to toss it, it was only $3.00 so cheaper to toss than ship, but I totally forgot that salsa is a liquid. Had everything else o.k. tho. DD did have a left over single packet for adding lemonade to her water...you know, the instant kind, her bag was pulled aside and checked, nothing was deemed a problem ( other then the security guard commenting on what a mess her bag was...I said he should see her room :rolleyes1 ) anyway, at home I discovered the lemonade packet and I bet that was it.....she just simply had no idea one was left in the bottomless backpack she uses. All in all I thought security went very smoothly...smoother than us missing our scheduled DME bus...but that's another story...a word to the wise...those suckers leave on the dot! We were 1 minute late just to see it pulling away....and he did not stop for us. We caught another one 1/2 hour later and arrived at MCO just fine, but with only 60 minutes until our flight. Not knowing if security wa going to be a mess or not we were fairly frazzled, but all was fine.

If I remember correctly they dont charge you tax, that would make up for some of the shipping. I don't think it was that much. I have shipped 2 home and if it was a lot I would have never done it.

When my family & I were just at Walt Disney World, on the WDW Today channel & the Contemporary information channel, they posted the new rules for flying with liquids & etc on a ticker at the bottom of the screen. So they may not post it in stores that sell snow globes, but they are posting it on the information channels, so don't say that WDW does not update their guests about information like this.
