No rooms for 1st week of Nov

I had some "hold" points from a cancelled HH trip this past May that I had to use. I waited for the 60 day mark to call with plans of adding 1 night and also upgrading from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom at OKW. Boy was I dreaming ! MS told me no 2 bedrooms or studios anywhere in the DVC system and in fact, I got the very last 1 bedroom at OKW except for the Friday night that week (Nov 5) there was one more available. I do have myself on a wait-list for a 2 bedroom but I told MS I only wanted it if I could have all 5 nights (Mon thru Fri). Fingers crossed here I guess alot of folks coming in for Food & Wine Festival.

There's a lot going on that week....between Halloween being on a Sunday, Food & Wine Fest and "Jersey Week"....I think there will be quite a few people at the parks the 1st week of November. I hope the crowds aren't too heavy! LOL! Should be fun though .

I had 90 points in holding from a canceled trip from July. Called MS Thursday to see if anything was available first week of November. No luck at DVC so we decided to check the hotels. AKL - Savanna for 90 points available!! We decided to give it a try. We've never stayed at AKL before so this might be fun. Just as MS is about to enter the reservation, the computer goes down!! Stayed on hold for several minutes but system didn't come back. MS told us he would call back in the morning rather than having us call him back and the room no longer being available. Got a call Friday 9AM and the reservation was all set. Now that's good customer service! I would've liked to stay at BCV but couldn't risk the wait list since I was purchasing airline tickets too. Same problem -- trying to use holding account points before we lose them. Ended up at the Yacht Club. One of the very few resorts we have never stayed at so we are excited.
