Hi everyone,

My friend has planned a last minute trip for 12/1 - 12/5/05. She has her airline tickets and is now trying to get a room at a WDW hotel. She looked online and called and can't find any available rooms for that period of time. Does this seem odd? It's considered value season, but everything is booked up like it is a high demand period. She will probably end up staying at the Swan and Dolphin. They still have availability. Any other suggestions on how she could find something at a Disney hotel?

Thanks.

She can try a travel agent, sometimes they can work some magic, but it has been known for a while that rooms during that week were few and far between, now looks like it's officially "full". You have to realize too that sometimes Disney blocks rooms until they fill up and then releases them, but if they are telling her it's full, it just might be! Tell her to check with a travel agent that specializes in Disney!

This same question was posted a couple days ago - here's the link:

When I checked the dates online on the WDW site a few days ago there was alot of availability. HTH!!! :teeth:

Those are the dates for mouse fest, which adds some extra people to the mix, and it's a very popular time for DISers.

My sister and I were originally booked for Dec 4-10th. I booked later than her and couldn't get a room with her at POFQ. When I checked around I found almost every resort was full.

We were so upset that we couldn't stay together that we re-booked our trip for the 10-18 and every resort had availability.

One cast member I talked to on the phone kept telling me it wouldn't make a difference in park attendance but I'm thinking.. What? do the people who stay at the resorts not visit the parks??

There is that one bad night in there - Saturday Dec 3rd. I am also thinking of a spur of the moment trip, and I can easily get rooms up to the Friday Dec 2nd. But if I start looking at extending my trip to include Dec 3rd - everything but Old Key West came up as unavailable! Very busy weekend, it looks!

That is also the weekend that they film the Very, Merry Christmas parade so lots of goings on and VIPs are around.

This is a very busy time at Disney resorts due to lower rates, lots going on, special events such as Mousefest and Pop Warner.

I responded in another post that I got POFQ this morning online at 5:30 for Dec 2-5 and have been trying all week. Try early morning online.

Have her check with different online sites. Expedia shows no availability, but Travelocity shows that all of the All Stars and POP have rooms available.
Good Luck!

In this case, probably not, as a good portion of the crowds are the Pop Warner kids who have their own activites during the day not in the parks.

I have read that there is also a large chiropractor's convention too, but, again, they shouldn't impact park attendance too much. (Don't tell me anything different - I have my hands over my ears and I am saying "La, la, la! Can't hear yooooooooouuu!" :rotfl2:

I bet anything it's because of the filming of the Christmas Parade. That is going to be on Saturday Dec. 3rd. Last year I tried to book a room for that day in September and could not find any availibilty! I bet if you called Disney you could get a room for the 1st, probably the 2nd, 4th and 5th, but they'll tell you the night of the 3rd is booked. Try some on-line booking sites like Hotels.com, Travelocity, Travel Zoo and Bookit.com they might still have something.

If worse comes to worst, she could try a DTD hotel like the Hilton or what about the Swan&Dolphin?

I have found that when trying to book just a room on the Disney web site, many times it'll come back showing no availability, but when I enter the exact same dates for a room and tickets package, suddenly rooms become available for my requested days. Go figure... :confused3

Try booking a package deal instead and see what happens. Good luck. :sunny:

ARRRGGGHHH !!! DH and I are flying down for a no-kids weekend, arriving before noon on Dec 1st, and leaving very early Sunday Dec 4th ... so now you're telling me that it's gonna possibly be super-crowded ??? :scared1:

I found out this week about the parade taping, so we'll be avoiding MK that morning for sure, but were hoping to be there at night since it's the only night that MVMCP isn't on.

Luckily I made my dinner ressies a while back so at least I know we'll have a place to eat those few days. :teeth:

Well, I just tried to book a package for Dec.1 - Dec.6th (just to see if any rooms became available for package deal), but the only rooms available are at the Swan and the Dolphin. I checked all the other resorts, from value through deluxe, and everything else is booked solid. The only place I didn't check is the Wilderness cabins and campground. So it looks like the only choices are the Swan or the Dolphin, although from what I hear, those are nice choices. :sunny:
