I think they haven't ordered the cake yet - they just plan to.

However, you can't order a cake to a restaurant unless you have an ADR. and if you want a personalized cake, I believe you have to order it at least 24 hours ahead. Might be 48, but you have to order ahead.

You can purchase a cake AT the restaurant but it won't be personalized in any way. and not all restaurants have them.

We did Chef Mickey's brunch for 2 year old's birthday--ordered Mickey birthday cake 48 hours ahead--worked out fine.

We will be in Magic Kingdon that day.....5 of us. We would like to go to Ohana but I know that place is popular. Any other place in MK where we can take a 1 year old for her 1st birthday?

I have been trying 4 times a day to get Ohana for the past 4 months....

We are going in a few weeks and will be in Disney on 11/9/15. We do not have any reservations. What are the chanced of just walking into a restaurant and getting a table. I know I may wait but will they take me? Seems like everything is booked.

The bold is why you will have issues with walk ups. If they are booked, they won't take a walk up. But, folks cancel all the time so while it's booked now it won't remain that way. Especially as the day gets closer. People are often booking more ADR than they need and drop them as their plans finalize. Check regularly for the 2-3 options you want most. Or book something that you think you'd enjoy so you can get the cake finalized.

Pooh is a great character!! I'm and adult and when I take my adult nephew to WDW we still go to the Crystal Palace. The food is good, and Pooh is awesome!

The MK is the toughest ADR to get especially since they are still down a restaurant (LTT) so there is BOG it could happen, CRT better chance of BOG, Tony's not the greatest but extremely popular and then there is the CP which has pooh the character and well....lets just say the food aint so great. I would try for GF Café, The Wave, Kona, or take the launch to WL and go to Whispering Canyon. I know its a 1 year olds birthday but no offense here how long ago did you book this trip? I was online 180 days out for my popular restaurants, BOG, Ohana, Cali Grill, CRT, 1900PF. Like its been said there are cancelations all the time but I would keep looking a chance of a walk up are slim to none.

I was told, as a walkup at SciFi, that those tables are specifically FOR the walkups. They aren't reserved.



The first day of free dining (as someone said) without an ADR?

Not to walk up, but to keep trying and look for a cancellation. We picked up a couple of reservations Christmas week last year a few days out as people were tweaking plans...it happens.


OP, you might have better luck on the restaurant boards, cancellation threads etc.

I don't see anything in MK at lunch time, but there's availability at Whispering Canyon, Trails End, The Wave, Grand Floridian, and Kona. There's also a decent amount of availability at Epcot and Disney Springs.

Disney does not hold tables for walk ups. If there is no availability your chances are slim & none. Keep checking as cancellations do occur and you could grab one to book.

If you want MK, but don't really care where, keep your eyes open for when they open the LTT and new Skipper restaurant reservations up. If you try for an ADR on the day they open, you may have a chance at getting something.

Sorry, I just noticed you are going on Nov. 9 - chances of these restaurants being open is slim to none. Just keep checking! I've had luck with last minute reservations.

Grab one of the available ADRs at one of the monorail resorts ASAP. At least then you can order the birthday cake. You can't expect to get a walkup for 5 people during free dining. Once that is done you can continue to stalk for an Ohana or CP ADR. If you get one of those, you'll have to call to change the cake delivery.
