DH, DD (14 mos) and I are in WDW next week, I normally have everything from morning till night scheduled and planned far in advance, but not this time. I have not made a single plan for anything but now I''m starting to get a little worried a bout not having any PS for anything!

Anyone done this before and has it worked out or should I get myself to the phones!

THANKS!:bounce:

I just came back. I drove down and when i left i didnt even have a room never mind PS anywhere. Since i was going with my 2 little kids i wasnt really planing on doing too many restaurants that required PS. I was able to get a spot in the morning at MK on 2 different days for LTT character dinner and CP lunch. I think the park will be pretty empty after the holiday it should be even easier to get the places you want last minute

I'm so jealous. I've always wanted to fly by the seat of my pants like that but my control issues always get in the way!! I think you'll be suprised at what you can get especially with 48 hour cancellations.

Have a great trip!

We never have gone the ps route. Hate to feel tied down on vacation - heck we don't even like the time limits of fast pass

Oh man you were brave! Where did you end up staying?

On the more than dozen trips we've taken we've never had a PS yet.

Have a wonderful relaxed, fly-by-the- seat-of-your-pants trip skippelm!

POP hubby's best friend is a CM as is her hubby and i got a CM rate. I didnt care where i stayed i would have gone off property and stayed on I drive or 192 with a coupon from he exit guide if i had to. Since i was there when Charley hit i was very glad i was on property.

skippelm, unkess there is someplace you simply MUST eat i wouldnt worry about PS.

skippelm, I'm glad you posted this!

It's our 1st trip to disney and I've not made any PS----I decided, it wasn't worth being tied down to a schedule. Heck, I just booked the rental car yesterday, and the plane/hotel reservations were made last month!

I think where there is just two adults and a toddler who won't have much trouble finding places to eat when you are ready. But the larger the group the more important PS become. I make lots of PS for our group but only the ones the have a CC hold are made in stone all other PS are subject to change as our trip progresses.
Have a great trip.

The only P.S. I have made in the last 3 trips was for Christmas day lunch. I find it easy to do most of that either the day before or the morning of the day you want to eat. I have even made a P.S. from my room at BCV and walked around to the resturant in question and been seated within 5 mins.

We almost always go without any PS and have never been disappointed. Most days we call in the AM or maybe the night before to make a PS when we have decided what we want to do that day for dinner or lunch. We almost always get in where we want within a 1/2 hour of the timeframe we want. We tend to eat on the early side so maybe that helps. We did this in fact just this past Memorial Day weekend and again no problems...ate at Boma's, Sci Fi Drive In, Spoodles, Crystal Palace Buffet, pasta place at MGM (can't think of the name off the top of my head).

We found that if we make any PS before we go, we probably cancel or change them over 90% of the time.

Good luck and have fun!!!

You guys are so brave!!! Me, I like knowing I have my ressies- it allows me to relax and enjoy my vacation and we just show up when it's time for lunch or dinner. We have gone so many times we know when we hungry and when the best times for meals are.

Good luck, I am sure you will do fine. I think some people need the structure and others need the flexability.
