First time to Universal. Doing 4 days at WDW and 2 at Uni in late April early May which is considered slow time for Uni according to a crowd calendar. Considering getting single park tickets for two days, one day at each park. P2P is just too expensive IMO. We cannot ride the new train I believe but other than that I think we should be okay. Any opinions?

If you really don't care about riding the Hogwarts Express then you should be ok. I went this past May and it wasn't super busy. It may be slightly higher this year with Diagon Alley being open.

Since you asked for opinions.... get the P2P. It's so easy to go between parks and repeat favorite rides, and why miss out on the Hogwarts Express? Especially if you are a Potter fan (and even if you are not, it should be an entertaining experience and easy park transportation).

In the grand scheme of things, it's not that much more, and enhances your park experience.

We went in the middle of August for the first time without P2P tickets. We aren't HP fans (haven't read the books or seen the movies), so we were ok with missing the one ride to save the $100 for our family. We got our tickets though UT and got a third day free so we went to each park one day and then on the third day went to our favorite park again. It was our first time going and we were so busy with going to see the shows/rides that interested us that I don't know if we would have wanted to waste time walking to the other park to repeat rides/shows even though the parks are close to one another. We did have express pass so we were able to repeat a few rides even in the park that we only went to one day, although we didn't have time to repeat many of them in that park. Maybe going during a slower time (or having less priority things you wanted to see) would allow you to repeat more favorite rides if that is important to you.
