No one probably knows, but I'll try: POR?

I'm trying to plan our honeymoon for early December. We had originally wanted to stay at AKL, but it seems like it will be too much when combined with out US stay and cruise. POR is the only other resort I'd consider staying at...I love it! Currently I can make reservations for the time we'll be ther (Dec 7-12), but how likely will it be that we'll lose the reservation? As an aside, 2 decembers ago, the same thing happened, our POR reservations were changed, but they offered AKL for the same price.

Should we just go ahead, book it and hope for the best (ie. no change, or at least an upgrade) or should we just budget and hope to afford AKL?

My family and I are going the week before you, the first week of December. I spoke with an agent with MouseSavers today and they're still booking POR for that time period. From what I've read the POR rehab isn't supposed to start until 2004.

For what it's worth, I'm going to go ahead and book my room for POR.

As an aside, 2 decembers ago, the same thing happened, our POR reservations were changed, but they offered AKL for the same price.

It looks like that if people who have reservations from POFQ do in fact get an offer, I've read it will be an extra $10 per night to upgrade to the AKL (and WL). By chance if POR closes during your stay, you'll probably get the same deal as the people from POFQ. (Which means if there isn't an offer, your only choices for staying on-site will be to move to CSR, CBR, move to a deluxe at full price, or down grade to All Stars.)

You have nothing to loose. I suggest that you keep up with any new news about POR & possibly the news about the people from POFQ, so you have some kind of idea what your choices will be if POR closes during your stay.

edited by Diznee25: Forgot to mention that I was in the group of people who had reservations from POFQ. I called Disney and changed over to the WL because I didn't want to stress out waiting for a call, etc.
