So, the way I'm reading this (and, I've read--or at least skimmed--through most of the replies on this thread), they don't start handing out the passes until the line reaches a certain length. So, if you got there at RD, you'd just get in the regular stand-by line and only when it reached a certain length would the paper passes come out. I wonder if you just wanted a pass for later, you could get one without having to wait for the line to grow long enough for them to be handed out? Or, if so, how long of a wait that would be? I'm asking because a friend will be there a week from today and she didn't get a FP+ (because she didn't want to "waste" one on a meet-n-greet), but she has an 8:05am res at CRT and was wondering if she got there at RD, then ran straight over to PFH, she might be able to get a paper pass for later (She's not picky about the return time.) without being late (or more than 5-10 mins late) for her res. Obviously, it's sort of a theoretical question (because who knows if this will continue beyond the Friday "testing" end.), but I told her I'd pose the question here to see if anyone had any insights on her plan.
