No more Stanby line for A&E?

What are thy doing with Tink's Nook? Couldn't A&E clones meet children there and double capacity - at least during peak seasons?

The rumor is that they are going to put an exclusive restaurant in that area (think something along the lines of Club 33 at DLR). If true, then look for it to open sometime around 2021. ;)

What a great idea! Imagine how much money they'll save if they only have to provide enough food for someone the size of a fairy!
I need to start planning my 2021 trip - can I lock in an AP at current prices and activate it then?

Wow you think it will open that fast!!!!;)

I guess they could but it wouldn't double capacity. There are more than 1 set meeting in Fairy Tale Hall and Tink's Nook only has spot for 1 set of friends. Not sure that would help much. Adding them to other parks would but I guess the other parks just aren't equipped to deal with the influx of crowds quite like MK.

In my opinion, their popularity, while still very high, don't get me wrong, has peaked. Their numbers will do nothing but go down now, albeit slowly.

I think their popularity is safe through Christmas. Then I'd expect a decline only if replaced by a new, strong character.

He he..... I see what you did there. ;) That's almost as good as pixiedust, don't you think? ;) You're on a roll this morning! :thumbsup2 Give 'em time. they'll mess with those too. What this does is take away the opportunity for alternative approaches like entering the line during the parade or late at night. Once those tickets are gone, you are just SOL.
So far, you're the only one.

I saw it, too. Sadly, 90 minutes later. Sorry, I was at the park with my kids. Where we used standby to get on the swings and slides.

Especially since there will be so many jaded families who arrived at WDW assuming they would be able to meet them.

Oh, come on! You know I get it, too. :thumbsup2 I'm having some serious flashbacks this morning. :lmao:

Déjà vu all over again.

Why does everyone assume that there will always be CM's handing out passes to whoever with no question asked? I can see this during the early test phase but Disney is all about allotment and I bet that some type of machine would distribute these eventually. And I bet that the number given would be limited. Mesaboy, I see what you did too. ;)

I wonder where they can get a great deal on some ticket-dispensing machines.

;)
Anyone want action on if this test will be extended?

Nope.

Everything that's been tested before has been incorporated.....

Edit: and Mesaboy, I got up too late to see what you did, there, sorry........

So, the way I'm reading this (and, I've read--or at least skimmed--through most of the replies on this thread), they don't start handing out the passes until the line reaches a certain length. So, if you got there at RD, you'd just get in the regular stand-by line and only when it reached a certain length would the paper passes come out.

I wonder if you just wanted a pass for later, you could get one without having to wait for the line to grow long enough for them to be handed out? Or, if so, how long of a wait that would be? I'm asking because a friend will be there a week from today and she didn't get a FP+ (because she didn't want to "waste" one on a meet-n-greet), but she has an 8:05am res at CRT and was wondering if she got there at RD, then ran straight over to PFH, she might be able to get a paper pass for later (She's not picky about the return time.) without being late (or more than 5-10 mins late) for her res.

Obviously, it's sort of a theoretical question (because who knows if this will continue beyond the Friday "testing" end.), but I told her I'd pose the question here to see if anyone had any insights on her plan. :)

If you're not near the rope at the tunnel for RD, there's a good chance the line will already be full. I can't imagine it being later than 9:05 before they are handing out the passes

C'mon, I was at a funeral.

Even from there I could feel the earth shake, like thousands of people were shifting their position to support Disney park management from the other side of an issue. Late sleepers must wonder who their friends are these days. :coffee:

Well, since her res is 8:05am at CRT, she's anticipating already being at the castle at that time. (She said she's expecting to be let in a little early to make it back there in time for her res. Like 7:45ish? Maybe she's wrong about that?). She's thinking that she'd scoot over to PFH and grab two passes and then still make her res by 8:15ish. But, like me, she's a first timer and isn't 100% sure of distances, procedures, etc.

Maybe her plan should be to eat first and give the line a chance to build up and then go over there AFTER they eat. :confused3

I am not sure what to think anymore. I don't like the idea in theory but it might help me this visit. I am offsite so slim chance at FP+ And I won't wait for 2 hours. Now I could have a chance with the new system should they keep it. I just have to join the frenzy at rope drop.

Is it a EMH morning. Because that plan only works on EMH when attractions are open. Park opens at 9a.

But even so we don't know the EMH morning procedure for PFH with the new system
