I don't know whether to be impressed or scared by the fact that there are 14 pages of comments regarding a shortage of chocolate covered ice cream on a stick.

Not just any ice cream on a stick, but Premium Mickey Head Ice Cream Bars!![]()
Guests are fanatical about them, not only on the cruises, but also at WDW. Disney has capitalized on it by selling t-shirts featuring them as well as pins, antenna toppers, Mickey Ear hats, vinylmations, Mr. Potato Head parts, etc. etc.
They are a tradition for many families on the ship. My son orders one after every meal. On one cruise, we had an organized Mickey Head Ice Cream Bar eating contest.
So, yes, when they are taken away, some guests get upset. Are there more important issues in the world? Of course, but if that were all we are allowed to post about, this entire board would not exist.

Anyone lame enough to "make fun" of a web forum isn't anyone that we should care about impressing.Threads like this is the reason that a lot of people dislike or make fun of the Dis.

I don't understand what your issue is.It's still just Ice cream on a stick just because it's shaped like mickey doesn't change that for everyone

You don't go crazy about Mickeybars... so what?
Why get on the case of people who do?
What are you hoping to accomplish?
Do you think that you're going to "open our eyes" and show us that there's a whole big world out there outside of an ice cream bar?
Guess what, we know. We don't care. We can both live full, productive lives, AND love Mickey Bars.
Nobody here is in their dark basement huddled in a corner like Gollum obsessing over the ice cream 24 hours a day.

Do you think that you're going to change anyone's mind? That anyone is going to say, "EastYork is right, I do spend too much time obsessing over ice cream bars, I think I'll take up something more valuable like curing AIDS or running for Prime Minister." I'm willing to bet that, despite your attempt to give people a reality check, your comments have not converted a single person in this thread. Nobody here has said, "Now that I think about it, EastYork does have a good point, the Mickey Bars really ARE just ice cream and chocolate, and there really is no added magic to them, I guess I was silly all these years for thinking that Disney put real magic into the things they do... Gosh, I hope nobody makes fun of the forum I'm a member of because of this, I couldn't live with the shame."![]()
I just don't understand what you're hoping to accomplish. If you don't think Mickey Bars are anything special, fine. But why come into a thread about Mickey Bars, full of rabid Mickey Bar fanatics, and try to logically convince people that their love for Mickey Bar ice cream is dumb? The point of the intentional and over the top fanaticism is that it isn't logical to begin with. What's wrong with having fun and being silly over an ice cream on a stick? If this thread is Neverland, it's full of lost boys, and you're being Captain Hook.

Okay, I'll go back to being a grown-up now and eat my ice-cream out of a bowl!
I have stayed away from this thread because I think the obsession over Mickey bars is absolutely ridiculous and totally juvenile. But I clearly regressed and had to post at least once.

Peace.. love thy Mickey Bar eating neighbor.
