I've been looking at getting some certificates from resturant.com

I can't find House of Blues on there anymore

It was there last time I looked at them, but now that I am getting all my paperwork ready, and ready to purchase one, it seems that they are not selling anymore :(

I really hope it's just a fluke, I even searched alaphabetically and searched each page. I'm really kicking myself now for not just buying one before

I have found the same thing. I have been checking for about a month too. I have been able to click on a side bar advertisement for HOB which shows all the locations, and when you click on Orlando it just says come back soon for more certs or something like that. When I had an email from restaurant.com a few days ago that said they had replenished their stock, I checked to see and STILL no HOB. It's making me re-think our plans. We like it there and it isn't extremely pricey, but maybe we'll take the opportunity to try something different. If anybody has any more info, please post!

Yikes I have an unused one I bought a few months ago for HOB to use in June and now wanted to use in Oct. what now.

ohh, I wouldn't worry about being able to use it :)

I've used plenty at resturants that are no longer selling them, they still have to honor the certificate, as they never expire :)

I agree - I believe if you have a cert already you will still be able to use it. Not to scare anybody but I will just add that the Uno's pizza by us used participate, so we purchased one and held onto it for probably a year. One day when we went to use it, we pulled up to the restaurant and there was a sign on the door that said they were no longer accepting them.

I think if that happens at HOB we may hear about it from DISers perhaps first?

FYI!

Thank you, will be there in Oct and use...we like it there and would go there even without the certificate... someplace that is not Disney food...

Shoot, I have one for HOB I was hoping to use next month!

But, I did purchase a aGC for a local placed called "Everyman" about a year ago. I logged onto Resturant.com the other day to print out my HOB and I noticed next to my "certificates" it notifying me that "Everyman" wasn't accepting the certificates and I could just choose another resturant.

So, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to use the HOB one

I have a Restaurant.com contact through QuickRewards, and I just emailed to find out what's up with the Orlando HOB -- if the certificates will be available again, and just to confirm that there will be no problems redeeming the ones previously purchased.

FWIW, I'm in Louisiana and the New Orleans HOB still has GCs available -- so it's not a national pull-out from Restaurant.com. And as someone mentioned, their banners are still up on Restaurant.com, so I'm thinking this is just an inventory issue.

Most merchants don't respond to emails over the weekend, but I should have some answers on Monday.

That would really suck. My HOB certficate is always part of my budget planning. I am hoping it is just an inventory issue. I noticed Giordano's also has a low inventory on the $25 gift certificates. I need one of those too. No way can I eat $100 worth of food.

our restaurants here in atlanta often run out on restaurant.com so i wouldn't worry unless you need it right away. the first of the month is usually when they re- load!

I was hoping that was the case, but I checked after this most recent re-load and no certs available.....maybe soon! Looking forward to hearing more....

:confused3

We used a HOB restaurant.com certificate last month without any problem.

One word of warning though, we paid our balance due with a Disney gift card and when our server Heather brought out our receipt for signature, she pointed out that we should be sure to fill everything out completely before signing -- and the final receipt she provided showed a balance of $78.20 and a suggested 18% and 20% tip on that amount. I almost added in the suggested 20% tip when I looked closely at the itemized receipt underneath to see that we'd already been charged an 18% gratuity. I called the server over and asked if it had already been included and she got flustered and said that it was but that we were free to tip more if we wanted. I was really bothered by the fact that she tried to slip an additional tip onto our bill (by telling us to be sure we filled everything out completely before signing). In the past, when we've been on DDP the servers have gone out of their way to point out that tip has already been figured in (we're a party of 6 so it's added automatically) and I truly feel like our server was trying to pull one over on us. Watch your receipts because using restaurant.com will automatically add an 18% gratuity.

I didn't know about the Restaurant.com automatic gratuity until I used one at a local sushi restaurant -- the server didn't mention to us that it had been added, and with a group of people, we didn't know how much to expect the bill to be although it did seem a little high. My husband was about to add on another 15% before he caught it. I understand why they do it -- they want to be sure that servers are tipped on the pre-coupon total -- but I agree that it is VERY sneaky of them to not bring it to your attention!

Regarding Restaurant.com inventory: they send us a monthly calendar with upcoming coupon codes, etc., and it says that they replenish inventory on the 1st and 15th. That's (probably not a coincidence) also the time of the month when their lowest percentage-off coupon codes are issued...50% off vs. 80% off.

HOB Orlando hasn't been on restaurant.com since at least July...unfortunately.

I was able to get a response back from Restaurant.com concerning HOB Orlando. The news isn't good. They say that "HOB in Orlando no longer participates in Restaurant.com." In other words, this is not a temporary inventory issue -- they will not be returning.

If you have a HOB certificate you've already bought and printed, you should call ahead to see if they will honor it. My contact at Restaurant.com wasn't sure how that was going to be handled. As others have noted, in the past if a restaurant pulled out of the partnership with Restaurant.com, there would be a note in your account and it would ask you to switch out for another restaurant's gift certificate of equal value. So you may want to check there before calling HOB.

Sorry about that...wish I had better news for you! :(

I just logged in and the GC is still there for HOB. I printed it out months ago though. I was looking forward to eating there again and will probably still do so if they do not honor it. Oh well I only paid $2 for the GC :)

I will be upset if mine isn't honored because TWICE we have tried to go and use it and they were having a special event/party and wouldn't allow us in!

You can call restaurant.com and tell them they are no longer accepting the certificates and they will issue you a mega certificate in the amount of that certificate. $25 gets you $25, and so on. I did it with a local restaurant here. It works the same as purchasing the certificate, except you don't need a code to buy. So you can buy the certificates at the begining of the month when inventory is still there.

I'm surprised by them pulling the certificate as it gets people in the door. Otherwise we would have never gone. The discount is nice but, it sure doesn't show that much on your final bill. My DS12 and I went in July and our total bill was just under $50 with the certificate. We shared a appetizer, both had burgers & each had a soda....

Needless to say it doesn't bother me one bit they pulled it....

I have 2 of them I bought recently and I was hoping to use one fo them in January. I may not go there on our January if I can't use my certificate, they should have to honor them.

I will wait and see what happens. If I could trade it for a Giordano's $25, I would be happy. I do have a $10 as a backup.
