My father had a pool hall for every CC transaction he was charged 25 cents plus percentage fee. For debits he was charged 50 cents flat. He never passed on this fee to customer as that's against the law(or so he was told) it's also against Visa and MasterCard rules to require a minimum purchase.
Sone People on DIS can tell you horror stories about Chase and their Disney Visa card. I had a $5000 limit and the intro 0% the day the intro expired it went to 12.99% 3 months later it went to 24.99%. I had a $2000 balance I was paying $50 just in interests. It was Chases way of recapturing the "0%" intro offer. I am now debit free and have no cards. I keep money in a savings acct for emergencies. I will never use a CC again. If I can't afford it I save for it. Just as my parents, grandparents, great grandparents did before me.
