ok now this may not be it but.....if any of you remember....back last fall they were supposed to close down that area all the way back to where the adventureland bazzarr was and that store plus bengal was going away for good so they could extend that area of RBT and make a better area for Fantasmic viewing....and they put it off due to shutting down Tom Sawyers Island and making it to the pirates thing....so it very well may be now that its done, they are ready to get back to the other project...just a guess...i dont know for sure
I called and asked for myself, as we will be scheduling a Fantasmic Dessert Buffet for June.......The balcony seating is GONE and will be so permanently. The blocked off seating area [by the steps] is still available for the same price and there are 50 seats available for each showing. Hope this helps somone
Awww sorry to hear you cant get seats My first thought also was the new renos that will be going on in those parts. I wonder when they will start that. Im thinking probably in the fall or winter when peak season isnt in full swing.
haha ..geez whiz,of course when we finally get to go after 12 years AND have NEVER seen Fantasmic, they shut down the balcony...AND let me wait with excitement for balcony buffet for over 6 weeks, tell me we're first in line for seats and THEN I find out..pleasant..I'm sure glad the word was out or I would've got there and been fully expecting it and then be let down even more..does fully suck butt tho!
I have it on my calendar to call today for our reservations! I called a couple of weeks ago and was told this would be the day (30 days out) to try and get it.
The CM that I spoke to never let on, that it would be non existent by now.
hehe,nope
hey all I betcha riverside is pretty awesome, afterall we will be closer to the action now good luck to everyone who thought it was still a go!
Well that's a bummer. We've done Riverside twice, and wanted to do balcony this June.
As for whether Riverside is worth it - I think so - there is a buffet, it's filled with tasty goodies, the seats are comfortable, and you don't have to line up hours in advance. I'll do it again, but I'm less tempted now (Especially since rumor has it the Mark Twain won't be back for the the June showings. )
Is the riverside seating given in the order that people turn up on the day? In other words if we had riverside would we have to get their earlier than if we were sitting on the balcony? I'm not familiar with the location that the riverside seating is in, do all the rown have a great view or is it worth making the extra effort to arrive their early?

Yes, the riverside seating is first come first serve. Unlike the balcony which is in the order you called. I'd suggest arriving early since some of the seats are better than others.
We've done the balcony 3 times and the riverside seating once. The balcony has a better overall view and the desserts are far superior, but the staff at the riverside was GREAT!! Plus the price is less for kids. I actually like the riverside seating better as far as view (more upclose) as long as you don't get one of the seats that is obstructed by the light pole.
