No magic today for AP rates :(

I really think we probably won't see new AP rates until after the GP discount booking period ends which is on March 27th. I'm basing this on my experience booking our last trip in January. I grew impatient and booked on the last day of the GP discount and the AP rates came out the next day so I had to cancel and rebook.

I'm thinking of staying at the Dolphin for our next trip. It seems that Disney is trying to fill their rooms with the GP discount and AP holders are getting the leftovers now.:sad1:

That's what I was thinking too. And I feel pretty sure that I won't get any kind of a discount for my dates in April either. So if I have to pay rack rate then I have to cut back on vacation time.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go ahead and book soon, just in case, then hope for the discount! If not, well, so be it!

ARGH, me too, waiting, waiting, waiting!!!! It's funny that we're on several threads now watching!!!! There's a GP room only code for August through Oct 1, but not an AP one? What's up with that???

Yeah, I went ahead and booked the GP code for both my April 29th-May 8th and Sept 24th-Oct 2nd trips. To add the DDP though we had to add one day park tickets we don't need. The main reason I'm frustrated is that our 45 day mark is coming up in just another week or two. If AP discounts don't come out by then, we'll have to pay the change fee in order to switch to the AP discount. With the GP discounts coming out so early, I'm concerned the AP holders may get skipped this time. My husband's AP expired in Dec, so we're going to have to decide if we want to get him another in May. My AP is good through mid Oct, but after that I don't know if I'm renewing or not. It would be the first time in over six years that I wouldn't have an AP, but I really don't like how Disney is treating their loyal AP holders compared to the GP right now. In the past, AP discounts were always released before GP discounts. I always go to WDW 4-5 times a year, but probably won't next year. Everything about how Disney is giving discounts to everybody else (GP code, free dining, PIN codes to only certain AP holders, room discount PIN codes to only certain people, and now yesterday free dining PIN codes to only certain people) is just leaving a sour taste in my mouth. To add dining to any of those deals you must buy park tickets which they know AP holders don't need. The only way for AP holders to add the DDP without tickets is to do a ticketless AP pkg paying rack rate or use an AP discount on the room. Going several times a year we shouldn't have to buy one day (or two day) park tickets every trip.

I always book "room only" ahead of time.

When we returned from our September trip. (no bounceback) I when ahead and booked with a AAA rate for May. When GP rates came out change to GP rate. A few week after GP rates came out we got an AP Pin for 40% off (first time every getting an AP Pin) Change again to an AP rate. All total savings came to over $2700.

I try to pick the resort we would like to stay at for our upcoming trips, sometimes we've had to change resorts to get the AP rate. We picked BWI for our upcoming trip but would have change in a minute if we couldn't get an AP rate for this resort.

While I love Disney I could never pay rack rate.

Those are EXACTLY our thoughts too!!!! Me,my Dh and our 4 yr old son all have AP's that expire this August, and the way things are going we are definitely not going to renew after this trip!!
