No luggage tags yet, leave in 15 days

Howdy! We depart 12/1 for 9 magical days at WDW -- booked a package through Disney and have not yet received luggage tags and the plastic envelope with all the confirmation paperwork, etc. That's 15 days away -- any advice on whether I should give it a little more time or call up to find out what's going on (and request a re-mailing if it's waaaay overdue)?

Have you called Disney to find out if your info was sent out?
 
I got our tags around 15-12 days out so they should be here anytime. If you booked through Disney I'd call them just to check or call your TA. :)
 

I second that. I received envelope with luggage tags at exactly 30 day out. I would call them ASAP to see if they have your correct address on file or if they have your ressie at all.

Thanks, all! I'm feeling pretty confident about Disney's end of things (they've always had our correct confirm #, I can access accurate information on their site, I paid it off successfully by phone, made ADRs no problem, etc. etc.) and less confident about my local postal service. In any case, with all the pixie dust flying around I'll *bet* it will be in my mailbox tonight and if not then I'll call right away. Thanks as always for all the input!

Good luck! At this point, Disney would FedEx them, so you won't have an issue either way.

We check in on 2nd December and have received nothing! I have called twice, one CM said I would get the documents soon and the other said they have stopped poting internationally - I am getting concerned now!

Jockey -- I'm sorry if I've concerned you. Why don't you call again and ask for a straight answer -- are they sending documents internationally or not? And if not, how are the materials handled?

I'm sort of fussing here just because the "arrival of the fat envelope!" is a traditional part of our countdown experience, and heck -- we love the luggage tags. But I *think* (and I will be confirming this if I do end up having to call tonight) that you don't actually NEED to have the stuff they send you in order to check in. I believe that if you have your confirmation # and all that, they can check you in and re-print any coupons or anything that they would have sent you. (By coupons, I mean the little slips you get if your package included bonuses like a free pin or some other small token.) The big thing is just knowing that you are in their system -- and that can absolutely be confirmed by phone.

It was not your post that concerned me, I was concerened before!
:teeth: As you say gettiong that big fat envelope is a part of the countdown and we too like the luggage tags! I have printed the confirmation so that should be ok!

I can confirm that you do NOT need anything from the fat envelope to check in at wdw. When we went July 2005, we never received our envelope or luggage tags. We were using Dreams Unlimited, and our Travel Agent called Disney for us, they said that they had been sent, they just obviously never made it to us. Of course, it was disappointing, and I was very nervous that I wouldn't be able to check in to the room without some sort of confirmation. I was also nervous because we had booked a package, with room, tickets and dining. I just knew that I would get to disney and there would only be a room, no tickets or dining!!!! My travel agent assured me that all I needed was the confirmation number and all would be fine. She was right. I was biting my nails through check in, but everything went smoothly. They didn't even ask for my confirmation number, just my name.

We are checking in the 9th and have had our docs for about 2 weeks :confused3
 
We leave on the 10th and got our tags maybe 3 weeks ago. DH's name was left off and it didn't have our flight info on it, so I called ME and she said she'd send another packet out. I got it in about 3-4 days.

I agree with the other posters who say to call ME. They can check to see if and when it was sent out.
 
I called because my DB who is in our reservation had not received his tags yet, and we were two weeks out. They gave me a direct number to DME and no one had bothered to enter them into that system - CM said it happens, so I would call! They overnighted the docs and I had them with no stress and time to spare. There is no such thing as calling Disney too many times to confirm things! Except you do have to go through the phone maze every time ;)
 
I called last week. We check in on Dec. 2 and we STILL have NOTHING. The person I talked to at Magical Express said they will send the documents again. So 7-10 days from Friday. :confused3

EDIT:
I phoned on 11/10, and our ME documents arrived today! :thumbsup2 But I am sure these are the ones that were generated from me calling - these are not tags that were already in transit.

We have a room only ressie, so no other fun "package" stuff this time around.
 
An update:
I called WDW -- a very frustrating experience because the CM was not a native speaker of English. Let me say, honestly, that I do not have in me what it must take to leave one's home country, learn a new language, and take a job that consists of speaking that new language on the phone. I do not have the strength nor the will to do such a huge thing, so I do respect those who take that leap. At the same time, it is frustrating when it's so hard to make yourself understood and get the help you need.

Bottom line, though, is that as I suspected, simply having our confirm # at check in is enough and they can re-print the various package vouchers for us. The CM on the phone first tried to tell me that because I booked online, I wouldn't receive anything by mail! (I nicely explained that this is our fourth trip in four years, that the past 3 trips were booked online, and that we had ALWAYS received luggage tags and check-in documents and vouchers in the mail ahead of time). Let me also clarify here that we are NOT using ME (took forever to explain this to the CM, too). Obviously with ME you really DO need those special tags. I'm just looking for the regular WDW luggage tags and my pouch of information.

CM said they'd reprint the information and re-send it (although since she thought I shouldn't have received anything anyway, I'm not sure how she made the leap to "re-doing" something, but no matter). Maybe I'll get it, maybe I won't. If we get our little luggage tags I will be delighted, if we don't then we will still have a magical, merry trip. But you know the bottom line -- it's plain old customer service, and those little touches that you look forward to because they are fun. Sigh. But hey, they know we're coming so I can't complain!
 
i just recieved my luggage tags yesterday...we have 30 days till our trip...i thought they showed up quickly since i just signed up for ME last week...i def agree with calling and talking to someone
