Why on earth did disney change from 180 advance reservations back to 90 days especially with fd. I couldnt get anything i wanted. Called and backyard bbq already booked. If it is so popular why is it only offered on 2 days.

The booking window is basically just a shell game. The same number of guests are going to be disappointed. I always though 180 days pandered too much to fans, and was too punitive towards first-timers and casual visitors, who would be more likely to not visit, or not visit again, as a result of feeling like they've been shut out, as compared to repeat visitors like myself.

With park hours not being released until less than 3 months out, we'd all be scrambling to rearrange our ADRs anyway....:)

I much prefer the 90 days as well.

I would be fine with 180 days, if they released the park hours at that time.

That has especially mattered now that they are cutting back on things like Fantasmic and Spectromagic. I really can't say I'd be too please with landing a Le Cellier ADR 180 days out, only to find out that it was for the exact same night as the only showing of Fantasmic on my trip. For people that go to WDW regularly, that may not be as big of a deal, but for families that go once in a lifetime, or even only once every 5 or 10 years, it is important to know park hours and what days shows are being performed before making dining reservations.

I agree. And it just seems crazy to have the person planning 180 days out running the same risk of being disappointed as the person planning at 91 days out ...... It seems like it should be a linear relationship:

The further out you are willing to commit to your ADR's the greater your chance should be at getting them.

90 days with free dining just seems INSANE...

I think if it really was a commitment (i.e., non-refundable deposit) then you'd be right.

Well, Disney is never going to do a non-refundable deposit. But I do think even a refundable deposit would help. I vote for 180 + CC guarantee on ALL adr's!!! WHO'S WITH ME?????

Oh, was there no vote scheduled????

If it is refundable, it isn't really a commitment though.

I know how you feel. We really wanted the backyard bbq and are able to book for 26 September in about 12 hours. But I know its already booked out from reading a post from someone who tried to book days ago using their +10. We are at WDW for an extended time so i have a couple of other options to try for it but don't like my chances. I'm suprised its not offered more than twice a week. It seems hard to get. I love the alternative someone else suggested. We are going to book Trails End instead and go to Chip and Dales Campfire singalong.

does anyone know where the " cart" is on the online ADR page? I added my choice to " my cart" but now i can't find my cart! :rotfl:
