She and Rob had returned to Downtown Disney Marketplace and had breakfast at...

"It used to have a drizzle of ranch but now it has caramelized onions. I liked it so much better this way! So delicious! This is so much food. I boxed up my leftovers and brought them to the movies with me as my snack."

We received a couple of updates from Niki Andiokno yesterday.




Niki said, "We did a culinary demonstration by Daniel Crenshaw. He is at the Caribbean Beach resort. I have always wanted to go there, I will definitely go there now. He made a charge to tell if it was. Ustream lentils for the pain of the underlying issue. They were not mushy and tasted awesome."




"This is the wine rep. It was a really good Chardonnay."



Then later she said, "I am such a bad reporter. Yesterday we went to Magic Kingdom. We stopped at Columbia Harbour House. Sally got a broccoli peppercorn salad with vinegar dressing instead of the one it came with. Chicken was moist and well seasoned. The vinaigrette was very tasty. Mike and I shared the salmon with cous cous and broccoli. We loved this. The salmon had a mild citrus seasoning and was not overly fishy. Very mild flavors. I ordered an extra cous cous, it was so good."

Wow! There have been some amazing reporting going on lately! I've got a F&W question. I know tons of people like the griddled Greek cheese. I'm wondering what the consistency of it is like. Is is soft and melty with one side griddled or more firm? Thanks for all the hard work you've been doing Barb!

We just tried the griddles cheese. It wasn't super firm but it wasn't super soft either. Was just right. Only one side was griddled, it was really good

She said, "On Monday we had lunch at a new place for me...




"It's so pretty inside the restaurant...





"Here's my plate of salads and a piece of pretzel bread."




"The salads were all excellent, especially the potato salad."



"I also tried this mushroom soup...



...but it was too earthy tasting for me."



"And here my plate of hot foo...



"Sadly the best thing I ate is not on here. It was the chicken and rice in cream sauce that was on Brianna's plate. It is only served at lunch. I also very much liked the sausage and kraut and the roasted potatoes."



"Here is my dessert plate...




"I was disappointed that the apple strudel wasn't better. My favorite was the berries with vanilla cream in the middle. Brian and Brianna liked the vanilla pudding."





"Biergarten was good and I'm glad we tried it. For around $25 a person for the lunch buffet, I also thought it was a good price."​

Jeri said, "Midday treat update! Rob made me go see the worst movie ever (Machete Kills) so I decided to treat myself by making my second stop of the trip at Ghirardelli."


"This time I asked if I could change the flavor of the ice cream in the listed sundaes, which you can. So I got the Warm Brownie Sundae with mint chocolate chip ice cream and dark chocolate hot fudge."




"I think it goes without saying that this was delicious."​

"I had some homework to finish up this morning before hitting the parks so my dad and sister went down to the...




...and got a banana and 2 hard boiled eggs to share."






"Once I finished my homework, we headed out to Hollywood Studios."




"Jeff and I stopped for a quick bite at...




"We both had a cheese danish, I had a milk and he had an apple juice (not pictured)."




"Sorry about the picture, I forgot until I'd already taken a few bites!"



"While we were getting our breakfast my dad and Mary went to pick up some fastpasses for us at either Rockin' or Tower. Oddly they were already for like 2:00 or later in the afternoon! It was only 9:30! The park had only been open 30 minutes! Seemed quite odd to us but we just decided to wait. Wait times were off a bit too, Tower said 50 minutes and by the time we got to the library we'd only waited about 15-20 minutes."


"After riding a few rides at Hollywood Studios we were about to head to Epcot when a survey cast member stopped us to ask us a few questions. He asked us about Downtown Disney and frozen yogurt. We were then taken into a back room and answered some survey questions about a possible frozen yogurt shop coming to Downtown Disney. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures because there was no tasting (which should have been included!) but it was a neat experience."​

Yeah! I've been waiting for someone to review the broccoli peppercorn salad. I know - weird thing to be hoping for, but I have a seafood allergy, and everyone else in my family wants to eat here. I thought it sounded like a good salad, so I'm glad to hear it was tasty!

Kathy said, "Our first stop was...





"Here we got one Escargots Persillade en Brioche...





and two orders of Boeuf Bourguigonon...






... and a Sparkling Pomegranate Kir to share."






"Since Jeff did not want any snails, it was perfect to share. Escargot was good as always. Bouef was deemed good and tender. We thought it could have used more seasoning and a bit more wine in the reduction. Nice serving to share. Pomegranate kir was refreshing with a tart Pomegranate flavor.




"Our next was...






"We got the chocolate ganache waffle, the berry compote waffle...





...and a Stella Artois and a chilled Coffee featuring Godiva Chocolate Liqueur."




"The winner here was the chilled coffee drink. It's almost like chocolate milk. We could have easily downed 3 or 4 each, haha! Of the two waffles we tried, the berry was the favorite but neither stood out. The berries were tart and it was a milky chocolate."




"After finishing up our waffles and drinks, we quickly stopped at...




"Here we chose steamed green lip mussels with garlic butter and toasted bread crumbs, and lamb meatball with spicy tomato chutney."



"Mussels were firm and flavorful. There was a distinct sea flavor and the breadcrumbs and sauce complemented the dish well. The lamb was a large meatball and had a nice spice. You could definitely taste the lamb flavor. The tomato chutney was great but not really spicy. It came on top of a puff that was not necessary and went uneaten. Give us 2 meatballs and no puff."

"Here we had the baklava and sangria."





"The baklava was nice and sweet with a nutty flavor. We liked the sangria a lot. Fruity flavor and chilled. We got a nice pour."




"After Morocco we stopped at the...






"Here we got the beef slider...




and the shrimp ceviche,...







...as well as the sangria and the key lime wine."




"We thought the ceviche was cool and spicy, the fire roasted vegetables were almost like a salsa. The slider was just ok, there was nothing special about it. I would say this was the least favorite food item of the day. The sangria was ok, but not real cold. We liked the Morocco sangria better. I thought the key lime wine was good but wasn't something I would get again. The others thought it was too sweet for their tastes."



"After all that food we decided to take a break in the Chase Lounge!"




"They had charge stations and a freestyle coke machine. They also had board games and puzzles for the younger kids. We liked this location better than last year but my dad misses the free Werthers (has been talking about it since!)"










"Our final stop for the lunchtime tour was...









"We weren't hungry enough to get either of the lobster offerings, but did try the clam chowder...






and Craisin Bread Pudding."




"The clam chowder was good, but not memorable. We did enjoy the little Tabasco bottle you get with it. There is also a Tabasco bar set up if you want to try one of their other flavors."

"The Craisin bread pudding was the favorite. It had a nice vanilla flavor with lots of craisins and was moist. The Grand Marnier was thick and sweet, almost like a frosting. This was big enough for all four of us to have a few bites each."



"We also got the beer flight featuring: Sam Adams Lager, Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat, and the Chocolate Stout."




"Of the beer flight, the Cherry Wheat was our favorite. The chocolate stout was not as good as the Chocolate Bock offered last year."​

"This was our first time here and we were excited to try it. We each started with a pint: 2 Strongbow Ciders, 1 Half & Half (Guinness and Harp), and 1 Strongbow & Black Currant."






"We started with a couple appetizers: the famed Scottish Egg and the cheese plate."








"Unfortunately, the cheese plate did not come with a card describing each, so I can't tell you exactly what cheeses were featured. One was a blue cheese with candied walnuts and Craisins. It was good. The second I can't place and it came with candied red onions. This paired together wonderfully and was a favorite. The last one was a soft cheddar and served with sour pickles. We ate them all up."

"The Scotch Egg was fantastic (how could a hard boiled egg wrapped in meat and deep fried be anything but good?!) and the mustard added a nice kick to the dish. There were a lot of flavors going on."




"For our entrees, we each tried something different:
Mary had the fish of the day, which was a Scottish salmon and came with roasted vegetables."




"This was very good and filling, but not heavy. The salmon wasn't heavily seasoned, but when paired with the lemon-beurre blanc sauce it was great."




"I had the casserole of artisanal lamb with seasonal vegetables and herb dumplings."




"This dish was delicious! It was like lamb pot roast. The only complaint I had was the dumplings were difficult to get into. You had to cut it, would have been much better if you could easily sink your fork in and take some."



"Jeff chose the Indian-style chicken masala which came with basmati rice."




"He really enjoyed this dish. When it first came to the table, they put the rice down first, so we all thought that was all he was getting! He said the portion size was large and it wasn't overly spicy."



"Our dad picked the corned beef and cabbage."





"He really seemed to enjoy this dish and ate almost all of it. The cabbage resembled more of a coleslaw than huge chunks of cabbage. He was very happy with his decision."



"We decided to venture out to find some dessert. I stopped at...







... and tried the Frozen Smores."



"This dish was alright. I think it would be better if it was a little bit smaller portion. Once the graham cracker and toppings are gone your just left with chocolate ice."



"Mary and Jeff split a banoffee tart. Mary tried it yesterday, and Jeff agreed it was really good! (No pictures because we had already taken some yesterday)"​

She said, "Tuesday for lunch we ate at Rose and Crown. We were seated outside and had a nice view."

"The steak came with onion rings and green beans. The green beans had a nice amount of crunch to them and a little bit of salty flavor. They were really good."







"For dessert we both had the Sticky Toffee Pudding."

"While at Hollywood Studios yesterday I finally got around to trying the carrot cake cookie from the Writer's Stop. It was good and would definitely get it again." (no pic received)



"Totally forgot to take a picture of my dinner at Pop Century Tuesday night, but I had the Mussels with Diablo sauce and Kyle had the sesame chicken. The mussels were surprisingly pretty good, but I wish they would have been served with pasta or something to make it more filling. Kyle said the chicken was good, but the local Chinese restaurant is better. For dessert I got the brownie sundae with hot fudge and caramel."
