No Longer coming to you Live from Disney World! Take 3 DDW'S TAMBU LOUNGE 8/6

Oh.. Just remembered.. I probably wasn't sleeping then.. I was packing so we could switch resorts! That took us longer than we anticipated!

Epic CP review Brenda !
Great photos - I am craving breakfast goodies now and it's nearly 10pm here ;)

Bravo, Brenda!!! :worship: Outstanding Crystal Palace buffet photos!! If I were your teacher, I would definitely give you a huge GOLD STAR on your Crystal Palace report. :thumbsup2

I have very little to add here really, but I do want to say how happy I was to finally have the opportunity to dine again at Crystal Palace. I had not been there since 2000 or 2001, so for me it seemed like a completely new Disney dining experience.

When Brenda first made this 8:30 a.m. ADR for us in June, I had grand ideas of us taking pre-park opening photos on an empty Main Street and maybe even a group photo in front of the castle. Well, the Christmas Parade planners had other ideas. ;)

From the moment that Beth and I set foot onto a jam-packed Main Street that morning, we were quickly herded to the left side and into the shops and didn't emerge until we had reached Casey's Corner, conveniently located close to our breakfast destination. So this is as close as we were allowed to get to Main Street and Cinderella's castle that morning...

Oh well, maybe next time? Hopefully I won't have to wait another 13 years before I again have the opportunity to have a pre-park opening breakfast at Magic Kingdom.

Anyway, soon Brenda & Em arrived and the four of us were seated for our breakfast at...

I snapped a couple of photos of these cute guys who were hanging out in the lobby... ;)

While Brenda was busily completing her mission to take photos of all the food offerings, I too was working on your behalf. My mission was to try out every single topping which they had available at the Made-to-order Omelet Station. (or at least that is my story, and I'm sticking to it :rolleyes1 ) And so here is my Ham, Bacon, Sausage, Cheddar Cheese, Green Pepper, Onion, Mushroom, Tomato, and Broccoli Omelet...

...along with sides of cheesy potatoes, sausage, and bacon.

And of course I couldn't have breakfast at Crystal Palace without trying some of their signature dishes.

So here is my plate of Pooh's Puffed French Toast, Breakfast Lasagna, and a Mickey Waffle with strawberry topping...

I enjoyed all of my choices, with the possible exception of the Breakfast Lasagna. The lasagna just had too much going on for me. And yes I realize that that statement is a bit illogical coming from someone who also had a "garbage" omelet.

And just a few character pics, the first with my favorite Pooh character...

And the other one, just because I love this photo. :goodvibes

After breakfast, we were again routed through the stores on Main Street in order to exit the park. It was in one of the stores that we ran into one of Brenda's old friends.

One day in the very distant future, I can see Brenda & Michael retiring and moving to Orlando where Brenda could be the Mayor of Magic Kingdom. With Brenda's warm personality, wouldn't she make a fantastic Madame Mayor? Of course Walt might not be too pleased about having a female mayor, but I won't tell him if you don't. ;) :ssst:

:rotfl2: Barb, you are too funny. :lmao:

I loved your "garbage" omelet quest. Here's a photo of you claiming your everything omelet:

Thanks for all the great pics of the CP breakfast! I didn't see any Krispy Kreme donuts though.... do any of you recall if they are still serving them? I'm allergic to nuts and this is the ONlY time I ever get a donut! I'll be sad if they are gone but at least there are still lots of other tasty treats :)

Of all the tasty pastries and sweets I don't recall ever seeing donuts or specifically Krispy Kreme. I know Tusker House serves them for their breakfast buffet. Other's here may have some additional helpful info. :)

I just wanted to Thank everyone for all of their reviews. I have been lurking on this thread for a very long time and I have to say I am very sad to see it end. However, it is because of this thread that my husband and I will be eating at our very first signature restaurant, Flying Fish, for our first trip home as DVC members.

A big thank you to jabead and the group who went to Flying Fish, as it was your reviews that made up my husbands mind to where he wanted to eat. Mainly I think in was Hunter's adult milkshake that was the final decision maker. We are looking forward to this meal as we plan on sharing the pork and another side for our meal, I just hope we enjoy it as much as you did and as much as I have enjoyed all of your reviews.

Hi Andrea! :wave2: Thanks for letting us know that you have been following along. I'm glad you have enjoyed this thread in the past and hope you continue to read (and find it helpful) all the way to the very end. I too will be very sad when that finally does happen...but I'm not going to think about that right now because we have just started our reviews for Day 3, so have tons more dining adventures to share with everyone! :thumbsup2

Hope you have a wonderful dinner at Flying Fish! It's one of my favorite Signature restaurants, so I think you have made an excellent choice. I'd love to hear your thoughts about Flying Fish after your dinner there, so please come back and let us know if we steered you right or wrong.

SO this was my first character meal ever:scared1:I know, I know, what took me so long:confused3. I am happy to report that I loved it
... Barb and I took a bus bright and early

I had scrambled eggs, eggs casserole, puffed french toast, mickey waffle:upsidedow, and a tiny bit of breakfast lasagna( which I did not like at all), and apparently bacon which is strange because I don't normally eat bacon by itself .

I enjoyed the eggs and french toast and mickey waffles

My second plate included fresh fruit, yogurt with a bit of granola, an egg, and some type of breakfast cake. The fruit was good and I recall not caring for the breakfast cake. I believe I also had several cups of coffee:)

The character interactions were a blast

I would definitively have breakfast here again. It was good and the characters were a hit

Beth- I remember you saying you have never been to a character meal. I am glad you had fun and got to unleash your inner child!

Great reviews all. Looks like you had lots of fun!! I don't think I like that breakfast lasagna either. The puffed french toast is enough for me.

and Brenda would make an awesome Madame Mayor!

emme & i were suppose to meet up at crystal palace for breakfast but after such a long day the day before, the 8am ADR was too early & i let the ladies know that we would try and see them at animal kingdom if not YSH for dinner.

we were staying at art of animation & then moving to boardwalk villas the next day.

we made our way to "landscape of flavors" to have some breakfast. i'm not a real breakfast person & was going to wait for lunch & have "brunch" for myself.

emme loves pancakes. she chose the child's bounty platter.

the pancakes also came with a side of:

emme doesn't eat much meat so i ate the sausage & bacon. the bacon was typical tragically sad & limp disney bacon. the eggs were powdered eggs that i have grown accustomed too while at disney. there was nothing remarkable about the eggs. emme ate half the biscuit & continued her carb fest for breakfast.

she also had a mickey milk & a strawberry yogurt to finish off her meal.

enjoying her breakfast

landscape of flavors accepts TIW! you truly save 20% off your meals when using your card as there is no gratuity taken when using the card. it is one of my favorite places to eat for a QS meal and the 20% savings is a true deal.

we hung out at the arcade & i let emme play a few games. then it was time for me to have my brunch.

i made a stop at my favorite counter at AOA, the world of flavors & i ordered my go to brunch:

Tandoori chicken thigh, spinach & paneer, cauliflower, basmati rice & naan

some close ups of the platter:

the chicken thighs were very moist & juicy. i was glad to be having my brunch so early as the food was freshly prepared and hot. sometimes if you go a little late, the meat is a bit dry and cold. but this morning, it was delicious.

disney's version of saag & paneer isn't remotely close to what i'm accustomed to at my local indian eatery. however, i've grown to like this version. i had a great amount of fresh spinach and chunks of paneer. i especially love dipping the paneer into the 2 sides of sauces that i asked for. mmmmmm paneer.

11958594644_894470734a_z.jpg

the cauliflower always needs more sauce but that's nothing the dipping sauces couldn't remedy. the cauliflower was firm and still had a bite too it....i love that part about this cauliflower.

the basmati rice was cooked properly and the naan was prepared on the spot. the naan was soft and doughy & was perfect for dipping into the sauces. two thumbs up from me.

landscape of flavors is my favorite CS place to eat & word of flavors is my hands down my favorite CS to eat. i love the flavor profile & that it's something different than the typical burger, fries, mac & cheese options available every place else.

the food is fresh & flavorful an the TIW card discount is incredible. emme & i can have dinner for $14. $14 at disney is an absolute bargain!

again, another enjoyable meal at art of animation. i highly recommend this place for a meal.

i love this hotel. i'm hoping to book it during the summer so that we can enjoy the nemo pool. we've never yet been able to enjoy the pool.

up next for me: snack at boardwalk bakery & another lunch at DHS. :thumbsup2

Wow the "garbage omelet" looks fantastic. The certainly have a nice selection of toppings. I totally second that Brenda should retire one day and be the mayor! Then she could give us all some free perks when we visit her :lmao:

Great pictures Patty! Your brunch looks delicious!

Brenda, I love all of your CP pics. I am seriously craving CP breakfast right now. All of your buffet pics are the next best thing. :thumbsup2

And such wonderful pics of all the ladies with Pooh and friends at CP. Looks like a great meal!

Great reviews from CP everyone
Beth - glad you enjoyed your first character meal :)
Patty - isn't Landscape Of Flavors fab?! - I loved eating there when we stayed at AoA at the beginning of our trip

Hi all! Sorry to be so late on my review.

My family has had a bit of a rough patch. My aunt lost her brother in a fire on Sunday in Toledo, Ohio. He is a firefighter and him and another guy were trapped in the house. I have been pretty sad because of it. While I am not related to her brother directly I did know him and I just know how hard it will be on her. I wish I could be there to give them hugs.

Anyways, sorry to be a debby downer but if you could say a prayer for my aunt, my uncle, and two little cousins, I would appreciate it. The last alarm service is tomorrow followed by visitation and funeral on Saturday. I so wish I could be there for them.

This Saturday in Disney Corey and I had a morning at Hollywood Studios where we met Minnie Mouse!

And Santa Goofy!

After we checked into the Boardwalk which took forever! we went to the Boardwalk Bakery with Emme and Patty.

I had the lobster roll and a strawberry cupcake. I really love this lobster roll here! The lobster is huge and doesn't have too much mayo on it which is a good thing.

The strawberry cupcake was so light and delicious! I loved it! I have heard great things about it so I was glad to try it. I would definitely get it again.

Corey got the brownie cheesecake. It wasn't good. I have heard great things about the old cheesecake brownie but it wasn't that great. It was flavorless and way too dense.

Rachel: So sorry about your aunt's brother... that is so sad. Praying for their family.

Ok, I have a very stupid question....where is that photo of you and Corey with Minnie taken in DHS? I'm trying to think where there's a Minnie M&G and I'm drawing a blank.

That Boardwalk lobster roll has a big chunk of lobster! Glad you enjoyed it and that lovely cupcake.

Patty: Your Landscape of Flavors chicken platter with the nan bread looks delish!

Adorable photos of Emme in her Snow White dress. :)

Prayers for your family Rachel. That is such a tragedy. :sad1:

And I'm with Brenda, where did you meet Minnie?

Not a fan of lobster but the strawberry cupcake looks really good. I always say I'm gonna get cupcakes while we are down there but never seem to get one. Someday I hope to!

And I love your picture with Goofy! How fun.

Rachel, so sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your aunt's brother. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very sad time.

Regarding your BW Bakery review, the lobster roll looks and sounds delicious. It is definitely on my "Must Try" list. I've only tried a few of the cupcake offerings at Disney World, but my favorites have all been from the Boardwalk Bakery. Your strawberry cupcake looks "Oh so yummy!!!" Another thing to add to my humongous list.

Rachel- sorry for your loss and sending prayers

Brenda- I thought the same thing ..." where was that Minnie picture taken?"

Add me to the wondering about Minnie group!

Very sorry to hear about your Aunts brother! Definitely sending prayers to the family!
