So are we allowed to request a straw and lid? If so, do we need some kind of "proof" of need?
I get that folks that need baby items like diapers and formula have to bring those items. I also get that someone who needs a scooter will have to procure one.
I don't think most folks intuitively know they will not be given a lid and straw when they order a drink at WDW.
Just to add, it's not clear to me exactly when this will become policy at WDW.

Hopefully Disney has some reasonable souvenir sipper cups available to purchase. If you don't want that - the bottled drinks will work. I think the folks with the biggest issue will be those on the Dining Plan since the drink is included at QS ... but after day one they will know to bring their refillable mugs to use at parks. Lots of options.
