Just read on Screamscape that they'll be no Grinchmas this year, so disappointing.

Grinchmas as in a missing Grinches lair. They will still have everything else that they have always had. This year they will have the Grinch more out and about doing meet and greets in the Whooville area.

Will the performance of "The Grinch who stole Christmas" still happen? That was such a great show!

Are they having the Whobilation show?

My understanding from today's Sentinel article is no. Just a meet and greet with the Grinch.

My understanding is also that Whobilation will not be happening this year.

However, from what I gather, there is a new Holiday show in the Kidzone of Universal Studios.

Barney and the Blues Brothers will also have Holiday themed shows.

Maybe Phamton can verify for us.

i personally prefer the grinch out and about, and improvising interaction with the guests :smooth:

There are a few new holiday inspired shows at Universal just nothing at IOA.
Its all listed on their website.

3. Blues Brothers Christmas Show
4. Barney Christmas Show
5, Macys Holiday Parade

We had a chance to see the Whobilation and LOVED IT!!! Sorry to see it go, but look forward to seeing the new shows Next Christmas...

How come they are doing the 360 Show around the Holidays but I when was there (11/3-11/11) they had the balls setup in the water but didn't do the show? I thought I would have been about to see it but I didn't. That bummed me out even more when I heard there were no fireworks too.

You visited during the offseason. Universal 360 is a seasonal show that plays during peak seasons, ie summer and the holidays. They still had the cinespheres in the lagoon when you were there because they were used during Halloween Horror Nights throughout October and it's probably not worth the hassle of moving them if they'll be used again in the near future.

I was under the impression that the movie balls ( :lmao: ) are a permanent fixture. The shows run at certain times of the year only. Is that wrong?

I am here right now and the balls are in the lagoon. My kids were asking what they were. JUst assumed they left them in the lagoon for when the Christmas stuff starts happening in a couple of weeks.

The big balls that are balls deep in the heart of Universal (bill and ted show reference folks) were designed to be portable. They can go into the lagoons in USF, Citywalk and IOA. If they so desire. The whole movie concept though fits so well at USF right now. And yes they start back up the same day the parade deos.

Oh, so when it's Peak Season they do all their shows (Parades, fireworks, etc.) and when it's non-Peak they don't do anything? Well, that stinks they could atleast do one type of show....
