Unless my coffee hasn't kicked the brain in gear yet, this would be the Feb trip. The ticker says 2 months and 4 weeks. Sounds like the beginning of Feb to me.

For all we know OP has already had the conversations she needs to have with her DH but is still frustrated and just was venting.

OP, I believe free dining for fall has come out around mid April the last few years.

Did you not see the money disappearing?

I have a separate ING account for vacations so I can see what is in there and know if anything disappears.

$3,000 is a lot of money to just disappear without notice.

It may be that she consented to the expenditures but didn't particularly like them. I just think a lot of assumptions are being made about what happened, & it doesn't look like OP will be back to tell us.

"My husband somehow pissed away my 3000 dollars saved towards it", says very clearly to me that there was no consent or knowledge of it.

Frankly, it sounds to me that OP has MUCH larger issues than when to reschedule her trip.

Yeah, maybe. But it's kinda sad how many people felt the need to jump on that possibility instead of answering her question. Two sentences isn't enough to judge a marriage.

Any one person's version of a two sided argument is very likely to be incorrect.

well, the trip will be cheaper with one less person along :rolleyes1 JK OP!I would maybe mention to him that it sounds like he already enjoyed his *vacation*...and you intend to have your family one as well.
Sorry that happened, I am guessing since the wording you chose that he spent the $ on perhaps, non-necessary stuff/activities.

If the OP had just asked when discounts are announced for September, her question would've been answered. Instead, she chose to tell us WHY she has no funds for her February trip. When you post on a message board - anything is fair game.

Around here when we say money was "pissed" away we're usually talking about beer.

But that's A LOT of beer.

we were supposed to be doin disney in february, but my husband somehow pissed away my 3000 dollars saved towards it. Anyone know when they will have specials for late sept?
Wow. That would be a dead man walking, in my house! I'm really sorry that he did that.

Mousesavers.com has a chart of the various discounts in the past, when they were announced and what dates they covered. You might want to take a look there.
http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codechart

If you're thinking about doing a package, you can book right now and put down a $200 deposit. When a discount comes out for your dates, you can always call to have your reservation changed to include the discount. In the meantime, instead of putting your Disney savings in a place where your husband may be tempted to raid it, you can just make payments on the reservation. Disney will accept multiple payments up to the date when the balance is due.

After the package is paid off, then you can start setting aside spending money by purchasing Disney gift cards. Your husband would have a hard time pissing that money away unless he is a Disney Store junkie.

Good suggestions!

Sorry you've got to reschedule. Keep your eye on the specials section of the Disney site and the sub forum for deals on the hotels forum here on the Dis. When we've booked free dining for Sept in the past, it seems like it was April/May when we booked.

I suppose it should come as no surprise to me that it's so easy for everyone to jump on DH, not knowing anything about the situation.

But, let's be serious. OP hasn't given us any illumination as to what exactly happened, and there's any number of possibilities.

DH could have actually just frivilously blown all the money somehow.

Maybe a large expense came up, and there was just some miscommunication.

Maybe DH spent the money on things that OP knew exactly about, and just used the phrase "DH pissed away" in her frustration that the trip will have to be rescheduled.

Or, maybe it exactly the opposite as it seems, and DH only had to tap the "savings" because OP was "saving" money they really couldn't afford, or was frequently dropping multiple hundreds of dollars at the mall, then expecting DH to somehow pay the rent.

Point is, we don't know. And, as always, we only have one side of the story... really, given the brevity of the message, we don't even have that.

Is this one of those posts we were warned about recently, where the OP is hoping for donations instead of advice? I just get a strange vibe from the brevity of the message and lack of detail.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. My DH did something similar to me a couple years ago and it turned out he had a gambling problem I didn't know about. We almost broke up over it. Things like this can be so painful. Like you've had the wind knocked out of you. I drew a line and he promised never to cross it. So far so good (knock on wood). Anyone can screw up so I don't think its fair to bash the OP's DH and we don't even know the situation.

My suggestion is to pick a date in Sept using the Mousesaver's chart as a guide and instead of saving the money pay it right to Disney as soon as you have it. If they announce a discount later on just call them and get them to apply the discount to your reservation. As for the DH he'd owe me big and I'd make sure he pays me back every penny even if he has to flip burgers at night to do it.

I didn't get that at all from the OP :confused3

Maybe I'm too trusting (but I doubt it). I don't get that vibe here. The OP has never posted on the budget board before. You would think that if this were made up in an effort to scam people, they would have posted on a board where they had established more online friends.

I think it's a genuine vent and not a veiled begging post.
