No free entry just to shop, right?

Friends asked me today if they could get in for free if all they want to do is visit gift shops and buy food. I told them that I had never heard of this. Am I correct or is this possible?

Disney Springs is free to get in unless you care to valet park (but knowing Disney I feel they may break their promise to locals and instate metered parking in the next few years)

Didn't WDW have a shoppers pass at one time in years past? This is where you leave a deposit for the amount of a one day ticket on a CC at guest services. If you return within one hour your card is not charged. With all the stores in Disney Springs and at resorts are there items inside the parks you just cannot find outside?

In many years past you could get one.

I don't remember the amount but I was told years ago that you could do a shoppers pass. Not sure if that is still valid though or was ever true.

I'd ask guest services to be sure.

YOU CAN STILL DO IT!

I just did it about a year ago. I had to pay a fulls days ticket and show my id. They said I had one hour. If I was back within the hour (I only needed twenty minutes, I had forgotten to get something that was only available let in park) I got full refund.

I asked the hotel.if they could purchase something over phone and have sent to resort...they said I could just do the one hour pass. It was very easy.

Only warning to that is since then they have the Shop Disney Parks app and now it's available from your couch...

Well, sounds like they do have a version of it now. But I am nearly certain they had it a very long time ago (like in the mid 80s). We went in to Epcot to get my little sister a stuffed Figment on our way out, as I remember it. I don't know what if anything had to be done to get in (my parents handled that), but I'm sure they didn't pay for a full day's ticket just to go in to buy that!

Yes, but only under certain circumstances, I believe.

They let the guy in front of me at MK GR put a CC deposit down to return something...and this was during a party (Oct 2016 MNSSHP). He had 1 hr and if he was not back by then, his card was charged for a full priced ticket.

not sure if/when they stopped doing this but you could get a 1hr "shopping pass".
my friend did so in 2010 although it was due to a specific circumstance.
we all bought captain eo shirts at epcot the day before we were leaving and she went to put hers on the day we were leaving and noticed it had a giant hole in it.
she took the bus to epcot and went to guest services outside the park.
they told her she could exchange it and gave her what they called a "shopping pass" and said she had to be in and out within 1hr.

Everything that is available in the parks is not available online (in fact thousands of items are not).

As far as I know (and despite all the answers here assuring you that it doesn't exist), you can still get a shopper's pass at WDW. If it has gone away, it is just in the last few months.
