I was surprised on the calendar that it does not show the fireworks on the observed Veteran's Day for Monday 11/12. I have heard that the park could reach capacity and it surprises me that there would be no fireworks. The park is open until 10pm that Monday. Anyone have any insight on this??

I am just trying to squeeze in one more night of fireworks since the Christmas festivities are starting a week later this year.

Interesting that they would have Fantasmic that night, but not fireworks  We'll be there during that time, and I sure hope they don't reach capacity. We booked this trip in May knowing that from past trips, this was low crowd and everything for the holiday was already up and running. Major bummer

I found it strange as well that no fireworks were planned. I wonder what their reasoning is.

To Hoffmans4, last year on Veterans day the park reached capacity, get to the park for opening and cue up your FP's. You can still have a great day with a full park, or spend your morning at DL but afternoon in DCA.

Maybe it takes them a full 5 days to switch from the Remember fireworks to the Believe fireworks? :confused3

Notice that Fantasmic is showing every night that week and that there are no parades. Maybe something big is in the works for the official holiday opening on Friday, the 16th.

They don't usually have fireworks during the week in the off season.

From what I have read on other fan sites in the past, DLR has an agreement with the City of Anaheim to only shoot off fireworks at certain times during the off season because they are in such a highly populated residential area. Since Veteran's Day is not a widely recognized holiday (mostly just government people have it off), I'm sure they did not press for approval for an additional day of fireworks.

I also agree that the switch between RDTC and Believe probably has something to do with it.

All of our local schools are closed for the holiday as well as banks, gov offices, post offices, trash collection, and probably more. It's a pretty big holiday.

Last year, they did launch fireworks on Vets Day, but it was on a Friday and that was the first day of the Xmas fireworks. It does take time to switch over to the Xmas fireworks, and since they have Remember scheduled for the 11th, and Xmas fieworks scheduled for the 16th, it will likely take all 4 days to get the switch done and tested. That is more likely the reason and not the agreement with the city.
